Fractal Define R6 stock fans
I do game with my PC, but I use it for a lot of other things as well. My general goal for my next build is that I don't hear it while I'm doing basic tasks. If the fans speed up during a gaming session, that's fine. From that perspective, I'm looking at the Define R6 case. What I'm curious to hear f...

I also have EIST enabled. My practical load temps don't cross the 65 degree mark like they will with synthetic tests. However, your much lower idle temps make me think that I'm not getting good contact with my Ninja. I also consistently get 6 degrees difference between the two sets of cores. How did...

Q6600 temps with a Ninja B
I'm looking for some comparison temps on the Q6600. I have mine overclocked to 3.0ghz with a Ninja B. I'm getting 45, 45, 40, 40 idle and 68, 68, 62, 62 at load (Prime 95 small FFTs).

Q6600 system refinement - my quest for a silent system
I built my Q6600 system a year ago. It’s currently overclocked to 3.0ghz running at stock voltage (2.875 in bios, 2.48 in CPUZ). I have a Ninja Revision B with the Scythe Slip Stream 1200rpm that came with it, a Yate Loon 120mm exhaust fan and a Nexus 92mm (DF1209SL) intake fan. While this system ...

Quiet UPS
I'm looking for specific model recommendations for a quiet UPS. I want one that is either fanless or the fans only run occasionally and are not loud when they do run. APC doesn't seem to list any information about whether a unit is fanless or not on their website. My power supply is the CORSAIR CMPS...

I have the same problem with the Back-UPS XS 900VA. I find the limited airflow design that requires a constantly on fan to be completely unacceptable. The level of noise and high pitch coming from the fan is very annoying to the point that I am going to buy a new unit. I need one with at least 520 w...

Antec Solo case $65.98 shipped after rebate from newegg
Antec Solo from newegg: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16811129018 I was already planning on buying this case from zipzoomfly for $92.95 shipped. I was looking at my wish list on newegg today and to my surprise, they just put up a $40 rebate! Looks like a hot deal to me! Rebate e...

I'm not "focused on gaming" though gaming is one of the things I will use this PC for. I'm also into Photoshop, video editing, DVD encoding. I don't see the value of spending $250 on a 8800GTS since there aren't any DX10 games to play and I can get adequate performance for half the price. I'm gettin...

The 7900GS is not quiet, at least not SPCR-quiet. Put an Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 on it and you'll be able to run it without a fan. Thanks for the Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 suggestion, I had never heard of it before. I think it's a bit extreme at this point as I would rather not spend that much ...

New Superbad System Build - $1,200 ceiling
Let me give you some background on this build.
My current system is getting old and is also loud. I want a machine that is going to be reasonably quiet. I don’t need “whisper quietâ€
