Re: Recommendations for quietest GTX 570 (or even 560 or 470

Well, all depends on what's subjectively considered quiet. I think that all gtx570 at stock speed both with reference or with non-reference cooling are QUIET. 560 could be even passive. A point that has been ignored here is that the reference design has poor VRM, prones to fault, so I would avoid AN...

Re: closed water cooling with the silverstone GD05/06

I have preordered the H100. The new design (oem from cool it) works well with thin radiators and low powered fans. While not exactly silent, it should be still quiet. But of course I have a big case (the 800D) and i prefer to have 3db more rather than stressing 1kg on my mainboard. Check some H60 re...

I hope I will find a solution to eliminate the only fan in my system (it is not noisy since is only at 5V under 800rpm) but it get a lot of dust in my system I will probably be able to use a filter but I will prefer to remove this completely even if I need to change the motherboard. I definitely can confirm this. The Winmate worked powering only the VFD110 (replacement) that i got from OrigenAE.
And later didnt make a hiccup powering the entire rig.

Two thumbs up.

This drive is definitely cheaper in europe/germany (bout 20€ less than WD GP). I've had decent luck with the original F3 1TB (which had some reliability issues). Looks like nowadays ALL damn HDDs are unreliable so it is a gamble. Warranty is 3y like WD GP, but Samsung warranty is a PITA to deal wi...

2.The AC adapter is heavy 820g plus the AC cord 160g total 980g and if I add the shipping box ATX cable adapter cable and PSU the total will be close to 1.4kg an this is bad because the shipping cost is higher. Praise also fo the good packaging.

I'm in need of more capacity (to slowly replace my 1TB drives with 1.5 and 2TB ones). At the moment the sweet spot pricewise is the 1,5TB, which is enough for a couple of units. I noticed that there is a new series with 64MB cache. The power in Watt seems the same accordign to WD specs, but what abo...

They don't say who makes these power supplies. To me, they look the same as the DC-DC boards that mini-box sells. A-Tech is thankfully mounting a sensible 6-pin input power connector, and charging $15 for the service. Add a P4 connector and another $15 for that! Nice business. A-tech is a boutique ...

I'm considering the pico 150 because i want to go completely fanless and i have space only for micro-atx psu or smaller.

These compatibility problems worries me a bit, though.

Maybe i'm better with the 120? There seem to be no problem with that, correct?

The usage is for a music server, not to reproduce video, so the onboard video is needed only to power the lcd touschreen (dvi). I'm trying to make my htpc totally fanless (for crazy audiophile reasons, not because i cant stand 25dB of noise). I just heard about the H50 and saw some tests. It seems a good candidate to replace my ninja mini, which with hot summers here needs a fan. I have it engaged with an A-tech sensor. The ...
