For whole drive imaging I use UBCD4Win + DriveImageXML. There are better solutions (like Acronis) but this one is completely free, plus UBCD4Win comes with an excellent range of system tools. Building a UBCD4Win disc is not trivial, as many of the tools it contains tend to cause false positives with...

Basically identical to the Scythe Kama Bay. Sure it makes the bays unusable for 5.25" devices, but for a lot of people that doesn't matter as long as they have one free. Plus you could suspend a whole stack of hard drives in the gap if you wanted.

Ridiculous. Love the way sites like Tom's speak as though water cooling is basically it when it comes to cooling machines like that. Nine external 120mm fans and a whole bunch of mechanical hard disks for 16k? Regardless of the lifetime labour warranty, one thing's for sure: they saw that guy coming.

What a load of garbage. The stupid thing about conspiracy theories is that they always go all in. It's always everything that is being controlled and just about everyone is involved in it. They can never be subtle. It's never like "Obama's being controlled by the bankers and they make him lower tax...

lol, it's precisely because of these positive changes that society has so much free time for such navel-gazing. Bring back the Victorian ethic, put up and shut up! Seriously though, the language used in that documentary is very emotive and the language used by many people to attack what they see as ...

The case is very good and the bundled supply will be adequate at the very least. Antec tend to bundle decent supplies with their cases. It'll almost certainly be as good as the CoolerMaster you were considering. Re: the stock cooler - even if you're not overclocking I'd get rid of it, purely from th...

Hi thedon and welcome! Doubt the case will be up to much. Thermaltake don't have a particularly good rep round here and the stock fans are guaranteed to be fighter jets. If you're aiming for silence then I'd recommend a slightly cheaper case and some good fans. I'd also make budget for a good CPU co...

Nice one on the freebie case :) Yep, plywood is absolutely fine. It's obviously got a grain so that would show up in the finish, but if you're ok with that then go for it. Also if you use "butt joints" ( wiki ) then the ply will be visible at the corners. Ply does have the advantage of being slightl...

Yep, your temp is fine. And a +1 for psiu's idea about the IPA. Whenever I've tried to clean thermal tape off using IPA or methylated spirit I always end up with a fantastically sticky goop which really takes some scraping to get rid of. Even acetone doesn't seem to shift it. Perhaps the Arcticlean ...

No worries :) Tbh I've never had a major problem getting epoxied stuff off again - never seems to be as permanent as they make out. The real b*tch is removing the residue. Doubt AS on its own will hold without some kind of pressure (at least initially) but you could try it in conjunction with some m...

I wouldn't say it's an attack against Obama per se. Seems to me Obama's name just happens to be the buzzword used to try and capture an audience for the film, which is saying that federal govt is basically owned by Wall St, and Wall St is in turn owned by a shady global cartel which does the real st...

MDF = Medium Density Fibreboard. It's basically lots of wood fibres bound together to form a very stable alternative to real wood. Some people love it, some hate it. It's cheap and cheerful, but sturdy and easily workable. I certainly wouldn't recommend making fine furniture out of it, but for self-...

Good man, always good to see proper DIY going on :) Materials wise, for a first attempt I'd recommend MDF. It's cheap, easy to work (although tough on tools) and most importantly for a first-timer it doesn't warp. If you fancy doing a prototype I'd say use chipboard. It's cheaper and even easier to ...

Re: What deception?

What specifically is this so-called deception? Specifically, the "deception" referred to is the promise that Obama can or will actually deliver anything different than any other president after Kennedy. The analogy used by KRS-One in one of the early interview set pieces in the film is that Obama i...

I wasn't referring to the UN. In fact now that I think about it I didn't even have the UN close to my thoughts when I was writing, which only goes to show how effectively it has been sidelined. I was referring in the main to global finance and the unhindered rise of the corporation. Admittedly they'...

I'd also add the usual "just because you haven't read anything written by the ruling classes doesn't mean there's a massive hidden conspiracy" caution. The globalisation agenda is way out in the open and has been for years. Obama himself has said "...those with money, those with influence, those wit...

+1 elastic from a fabric shop Although in a pinch, I'd say that the purple elastic band, IF it is the kind I think it is (i.e. food grade) is much, much less prone to perishing than standard bands and therefore most suitable out of your photograph. It would still perish, but in my experience the tim...
