Owens Corning 703
I know what you're thinking ... Owens Corning ... pink panther ... insulation?? I've been heavily researching making an acoustically "natural" sounding room in my apartment for mixing/recording, and I came across newsgroup discussions about this stuff. Long story short: I'm sold on it. There are var...

Isn't the point of Linux that you can recompile the kernel and take any junk you don't need out of any distribution? Do some research and strip the kernel down to the bare essentials that you'll need for folding. When you've got a task specific machine such as the ones you're building you can get ri...

I got one of those Gyration keyboard & mouse sets for my dad for Christmas. They're great! My brother took the keyboard all the way across the house to the kitchen and it still worked great through several walls. The keyboard is a laptop style, so if you are bugged by the low action of laptop keyboa...

Sounds to me like you need to connect all your electronic devices up to a UPS. Most of them can supply power for at least 30 minutes, so a couple of seconds would be a piece of cake.

**What would be really cool, is if we had a chat room that we could go into and hang out with fellow SPCR members and just chat/BS or whatever. It would also be really helpful for people like rosey_toes, because we could just say come into the chatroom and ill walk you through (whatever) process, i...

Yeah, the TBred B 1700's are nice. I have one overclocked to 1.83ghz (166x11) @ 1.75v and it's stable at around 47°c while folding. As soon as I can find a BIOS to unlock the multiplier on my AOpen AK79D-1394 I'm going to try a bunch different settings to see what the best combination of FSB, multip...

Thanks for the heads up. That file has a lot more information I can do cool stuff with. It will have the same copy problem, but I'm not worried about that. I'll develop it over the next few days and let you guys know what I come up with. Even if there is something already in Electron Microscope, usi...

I haven't looked at it. Creating a webpage would be nice ... I don't want it to run as a webserver because Tomcat is already taking port 80. Thanks for the tip! PS - I got my JSP to work. Here's the code for anybody who's interested: Edited to reflect FAHlog.txt: <%@ page language="java" import="jav...

Update: I wrote a simple JSP to put the contents of the log on a web page. As soon as I ran it the first time, I couldn't finish any more frames in my FAH Console. Processor usage was still 100%, but the darn thing ran for 50 minutes without finishing a frame. I ran the graphical client to see if an...

Remote Folding Status Servlet
Is there any way for the folding client to pass information to other programs? I'm running Apache Tomcat and would like to create a servlet that would let me see my folding progress on the web so I can track it when I'm not at home. If anybody wants to collaborate on this, let me know. I'll probably...

The recycle bin does span all windows partitions. As far as removable drives go, the only way I've found (using the "eject hardware" feature of 2k/xp) to make a drive removable is to connect it using usb or firewire as fancontrol suggested. Those hard drive trays that you see all over the place will...
