I'm not familiar with the 2203, but I know B&K makes EXCELLENT mics. We have a handful of 4006's that sound amazing. If you ever get a chance to put your ears on any of the new DPA mics, do so. DPA is an offshoot of B&K. Have you considered adding spectrafoo or smaart to the list? They are some grea...

Thanks for the review. I was able to get my Cu at $50 USD on a special pricing sale at one of our sponsors. I still kind of wish I had went with the original Ninja. I know I still haven't posted my build pictures (life has thrown three curve balls and a screwball at me this week), and my PC hasn't l...

Thank you for your gracious responses :) Yeah, overkill. Like I said, I was tired and I couldn't sleep because I was like a kid before xmas because my computer parts were in town, I just had to wait for the fedex store to open!!! First off, I am completely biased towards stereo recordings. As far as...

Hello all, A caveat to start. I am fully aware that everything I will be saying will probably be overkill for the application at hand. I fully acknowledge that while I do know some things, my knowledge is limited and hope that this post doesn't come off in the wrong way. I'm merely an insomniac who ...

I'll be building my first pc in the next few days and I bought the 5th anniversary Ninja. Does anyone have any experience with the Cu on an AM2+ and running it passive (I won't know if the HSF will interfere with the RAM until I finish getting the parts)? Is there any way to use the 775 backplate fo...

Any St. Louis folk want to help a noob with a build?

Again, I say, I should be sleeping, and yes, I still blame you all. Anyway, so I'm getting ultra nervous about my build. The parts started arriving today and will finish arriving by Monday or Tuesday. My final list ended up: antec solo Corsair CMPSU-620HX msi k9a2 platinum (which was REALLY hard to ...

if I had the extra dough, and I was running an intel build, I would totally be using a mac-based OS for the audio side of things.

I've spent about ten hours behind that duality in the past day and a half and have done a couple mixes on it...oh man, it's a dream.

@ame Sorry I wasn't clear on the 8 GB thing. Basically, the MSI maxes out at 8 GB, whereas the gigabyte board max out at 16GB. I won't need that much RAM for a while. When I do, I'll have more income and will just build a new audio computer and retire this one to gaming, or something like that. I re...

thank you all for your responses! @ ame the main reason I'm not going intel is price. I built 4 wish lists, an AMD dual core, AMD quad core, Intel dual core, Intel quad core. There is roughly a $400-500 price difference and unfortunately that just happens to be out of my budget. Otherwise, an Intel ...

audio + gaming seems to be popular...opinions please

I was wondering your thoughts on my latest ver of my build. I'm creating this computer for my girlfriend and I for school/audio/gaming. [updated 1-22-08] Antec Solo Corsair CMPSU-620HX 620W ATX (gotta have modular cables) MSI K9A2 Platinum AMD Phenom 9600 Black Edition Quad Core Scythe Ninja Copper ...

I should be sleeping, I blame you all

Thank you. Like really. I'm an audio guy. I'm building a computer for the first time in a long time. I appreciate all the work spcr and it's members are doing. It's 4am, and I have a recording class in the morning (we just got an SSL Duality, it's a nice a board) but instead of sleeping, I'm writing...
