Re: Silent UPS
I got the replacement unit, another BR1500. This unit produces a high pitched whine then a click every 10 seconds or so. I assume that this is the charging circuit keeping the float charge on the battery.

Re: Silent UPS
I've contacted the seller and they are going to send a replacement BR1500 unit, into which I'll swap the batteries from my current unit.

High density platter seek whine
Hi, I would like to know if anybody else has been having this problem. I previously purchased a Samsung F1 1tb hard drive that produces a high pitched whine when seeking. Today I got a 1tb two platter, 500gb/platter, Western Digital greenpower hard drive. When I run HDTune's error scan on the WD dri...

Samsung F1 1TB Seek Noise
Hi,
I just got a Samsung F1 hard drive. It produces high pitched noises when seeking. Also, before suspending the drive in my Solo, I softmounted it using the Solo drive trays, where the drive was very noisy.
I'd just like to know if anyone else has experienced this.
Thanks

Hi, I've got a problem with my replacement psu which I recieved by UPS yesterday from Seasonic. When I try to cold boot, booting after windows shutdown, the status lights flash for a millisecond then shut off. But, when I cycle the on/off switch on the power supply itself and then press the power bu...

Any Experience with Scythe Thermo Non-Contact Thermometer
Hi,
In the recent sales flyer for the online store I visit, I see some sort of infared thermometer produced by Scythe. I would like to know if anyone has used them and if their accuracy is any good.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I've got the Antec Sonata Designer (a.k.a. Antec Solo), with a Seasonic S12II 380 psu. I've got the stock one slot cooler on the 8800gt which exhausts into the case and a ninja on the e8400. When I do any gaming the Seasonic fan ramps up. This is with the case closed and 2 nexu...

Ramping up Seasonic 380 PSU RMA'ed
Hi. I've got another question here. Currently, I've got a Seasonic S12II 380W psu, but when I start gaming, the psu fan ramps up and is quite loud. I'm running an E8400 and 8800GT. My question is, would it be quieter to use a 120mm psu that sucks in the case air or a 80mm psu thats ducted to the fro...

ventilation with single fan psu
Hi, I've got another question here. On typical atx midtower cases the cd & dvd drives are on the same level as the psu, at the top of the case. Then when you use a psu with a single bottom fan, it creates a heat pocket between the drives and the psu. Would this lead to the drives overheating? Also, ...

Antec EarthWatts 500W Powersupply heatsink buzz
Hi, When I was poking aroung inside my Earthwatts 500W looking for the source of the buzzing noise. I found that it was coming from the heatsink, which is live with high frequency voltage.
