Hello, I think they are suffering from a misunderstanding of how a PSU fan is controlled...I think this is a myth that, along with there being a problem with running sleeve bearings horizontally -- needs to be debunked! :o I agree, the Slipstream installed in my HX520 is running fine and is silent ...

I'm interesting in doing the same thing with the same PSU. Could you please tell me how you connected the 3pin fan to the 2pin fan connector of the PSU?? Did you use an 3pin to 2pin adaptor or something or did you broke the 2pin connector in order to fit the 3pin fan??? You can remove the 2 pin hea...

Welcome to SPCR! I fan swapped my PSU 2000 rpm adda ball bearing fan into Scythe S-flex 1600 rpm because S-flex starts reliably under 5v everytime. With Adda fan my RPM's were around 900 RPM idle.
