The shader counts are given in an interesting way on those charts. Clusters of 4 rather than clusters of 5. I'd speculate that they changed the balance of the different types of stream units. That'd mean the difference between max theoretical gflops and real world perfomance would not be the same as...

My Enermax Modu82+ 425W does not sound like that. I would guess the fans are damaged.

I have a 5770 from XFX with the v2 (egg-shaped) stock cooler. I'd say it's plenty quiet, but I'm not in a particularly quiet location due to a nearby furnace that runs a lot. On occasions when the room is quiet enough I can hear the light overhead buzzing more than the 5770 in my non-silence friendl...

I've got a ZEN FZ120 myself, but I run it on AM2+. I'm pretty sure AM3 has the same mounting bracket though. It should work fine.

That shortcut is new in Windows 7. It does not help his case with Windows XP. It's good to take note of though.

Doesn't the catalyst control center support hotkeys? Actually it does, I just opened it myself was able to set hotkeys for "Disable all non-Primary displays" and "Enable Extend Mode". A quick test with my own monitors worked just fine.

"This just in: No it's not."

Anandtech has posted a retraction. No multi-channel LPCM for the 785 from the looks.

I've seen someone with a signature in a forum that read: "When you're holding a hammer, everything looks like a nail." Perhaps this phrase is meaningful here based on what crazybob said. Anybody who tries to compare a forum to a blog should look up the word "forum" in a dictionary sometime and gathe...

People here can recommend parts that could be quieter than others, but in this case the all-important "speed" parameter has not really gone away. Silence is almost always a trade-off so, what is optimal for one person is quite obviously not so for the next. I think most people here see that and so t...

If you could find one, a Geforce 2 MX card could work. I don't know what their actual power consumption is but I've read something about an operating power of 4W. They don't even have a heatsink let alone a fan. I fell back on using one for a bit when my old 9800 died a few months back. It worked su...
