My CPU fan and an Arctic 120mm PWM fan (rear) are connected to the CPU_FAN 4-pin connector and controlled by the BIOS.
I use a Zalman fanmate and a Y-splitter to control the front and side fan, and another fanmate to control the fan of my video card.
Works like a charm.

I have the HD3650 that also uses the glaciator fan. O.k. it can't be compared to an 8800GT, but just to give you an idea. At stock speed (and at least on the HD3650 there is no possibility to control the fan speed) it makes a whining noise, but it is very effective in cooling the card. I installed a...

I believe Smart Fan control is for direct BIOS control of CPU fan speed depending on CPU temperature, and doesn't have anything to do with SYSFAN2 or enabling manual fan control in general. Smilingcrow's post seems to imply this. So the smart fan control only controls the CPU_FAN? If this is the ca...

Just received a reply from Gigabyte tech support: Hello, There is no "smart fan control mode" for SYS_FAN2 in the Bios. However this information is for you reference: There are 4 fan connectors on this motherboard: CPU_FAN (4 pin) SYS_FAN1 (3 pin) SYS_FAN2 (4 pin) PWR_FAN (3 pin) Fan’s with a 3 pi...

Errrr, yes, I know that and that's the one I have installed (like I said in the post right above yours).cpemma wrote:F2 is your latest BIOS.
Actually, there is the F3b, but I don't like beta BIOS, so I'll wait for the full release.
Still no reply from Gigabyte in the meantime.

On my P35-ds3p board, fan control settings are under the PC Health Status menu, NOT the M.I.T. menu. The two options are smart fan control method and smart fan control mode I know where it is located in the bios, however I do not have the options as you can see in the picture I took of my PC Health...

Just found this review: http://www.legitreviews.com/article/652/11/
Now I am completely confused, they are talking about temps of 51°C idle and 84°C peak and achieve only a very small overclock.
And on my card the fan is spinning slower because of the fanmate!!!

Overclocked HD3650
I recently put together a new system with an Asus HD3650 video card. Out of the box this card runs at 725MHz GPU clock and 800MHz (1600) memory clock. I installed a fanmate because the fan on the card was too loud to my liking, now I can barely hear it. I overclocked the card to 910MHz GPU frequency...

Could anyone please clarify whether or not the 4-pin case fan on these boards is BIOS-controllable now? As mentioned, the manual does not address this. Only the CPU fan is regulated (must now be a 4-pin fan?) according to the manual. Thanks... Impossible to know because... the 4-pin SYS_FAN2 simply...
