No one else seems to be having vibration problems with the F4s so it sounds like i have a bad one.
Eg:
http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showth ... st17373063
they are saying they vibrate less than WDs and F3s.

I have one of these, and my impression is this: On the one hand yes there is a noisy side to the drive, exactly as you mention, at boot, plus noisy seeks in general (noisier than any drive ive had build the last decade), which occur in large file copys etc. But oh man on the other hand the drive is ...

I was planning on doing these measurements, and if your test is clear enough i wont have to try to locate a DC clampmeter. However, could you please confirm: - your figures exclude HDD, optical, usb, fans(ie MoB only) - if you can, document loaded and unloaded figures, and specifiy how you loaded th...

Great job. Are these figures at idle or loaded? How did you load the board?

Here in NZ we got these early. http://www.webspaces.net.nz/images/DSCF7868.JPG Ive got it in a Procase/morex cs-3688, which only has a 60W DC-DC board. After reading the vague specs for the boards sibling (nothing on intels site for the dual core yet) the d945gclf requires 7.75 amps on the 5v rail, ...

Low power, DC, DVD, mobile workstation
Im almost ready to build a new computer, this time for my campervan. Ive long hoped i could create something that was: A. modular, simple to repair B. VERY low power consumption (expensive power via solar panels) lets aim for 40W LCD, 40W mob+PCU, 80W tops, better if we can C. DC power supply via mo...
