Re: 2011 SSD pricing (for drives >= Intel G2 X-25V 40GB perf
It's questionable if the 40GB Intel 320 Series should be on the list. The 40GB X25-V is starting to go out of stock as it is an EOL item. I'll be either dropping one or both of the 40GB drives off my list in the near future. Doug, In line with your posts in the How important are random writes on SS...

Re: First Review of the Intel 320 Series 300GB SSD
Have any reviews of the lower capacity 320s appeared yet? I haven't seen anything myself, beyond a table on the AnandTech review which shows that the 160 GB version does have reduced performance specs. (And worse for the 120 GB.) I haven't seen any reviews of the lower capacity Intel 320 series SSD...

Re: Intel® Solid-State Drive 320 Series
Right now I can get the x25-m at $208 so I'd want the 320 Series to be more like $210 for the 120GB and $290 or less for the 160GB. But I'm a cheapskate. Obviously Intel is trying to sell these on sequential speeds and reliability (and other features) and hoping no one will complain about the rando...

Re: First Review of the Intel 320 Series 300GB SSD
I went and looked. CA_Steve was right, they are all 300G drives. No one wants to bother with drives the little people will actually buy. If you ever notice a 120G review please let us know. I agree that the 120GB and 160GB models look like the sweet spot for the 320 series but unfortunately sending...

Re: First Review of the Intel 320 Series 300GB SSD
As I'm sure most have noticed already, a few other reviews of the 300GB Intel 320 have been published:

Re: Intel® Solid-State Drive 320 Series
Random writes won't be that much faster and it'll be the random write speed that I look at to decide which models to compare and it will play a large part in my price/performance comparison. Sounds like a good idea as random write speed does appear to be the aspect which has deteriorated compared t...

Re: Intel X25-M 120GB ~$208 ~$1.73/GB SSDSA2MH120G2K5
It seems that G3 uses the same controller as G2. A real disappointment, not to mention only SATA 3Gbps... I think the primary barrier to widespread SSD adoption is price so I'd be happy for the 320 (G3 series) to exhibit similar performance to the X25-M (G2) series *if* (and only if!) it has a sign...

Yes, I also read the Expreview article using that link. Hopefully, we'll soon get to compare random read/write speeds for the Intel G2 and G3 80GB SSDs. http://en.expreview.com/2011/03/23/world-exclusive-review-intel-g3-ssd-80gb/15569.html/8 Page 5 of the Expreview includes a comparison of the Crys...

Re: Intel X25-M 120GB ~$208 ~$1.73/GB SSDSA2MH120G2K5
25nm flash should drop the price vs the 34nm flash in the Intel G2 drives but you'll have to buy a drive at 1.5 to 2x the capacity to get similar write speeds so the comparable drives will be the X25M at 120GB and the Intel SSD 320 at 160GB. If prices for the Intel 320 series are comparable to thos...

Re: Intel X25-M 120GB ~$208 ~$1.73/GB SSDSA2MH120G2K5
I'm just not getting this. Why on earth would anyone choose these over the last generation of Intel SSDs? What am I not getting?????????????????? They will likely exhibit higher performance than the previous (X25-M) generation of Intel SSDs (although how significant this improvement is for real usa...

Re: Intel X25-M 120GB ~$208 ~$1.73/GB SSDSA2MH120G2K5
The estimated pricing and a new release date are now posted at VR-Zone . Thanks for the link Tephras. If they are at the same price points (note that the vr-zone prices are estimates), my preference would be to opt for an older X25-M model until any bugs have been identified and resolved for the ne...

Re: Intel X25-M 120GB ~$208 ~$1.73/GB SSDSA2MH120G2K5
The big unknown is how much cheaper per GB will the Intel 320 be than the X25-M? See http://vr-zone.com/articles/intel-solid-state-drive-320-series-to-launch-mid-april/11407.html#ixzz1FduMSROI 25nm flash should drop the price vs the 34nm flash in the Intel G2 drives but you'll have to buy a drive a...

Re: Am I on the right track with this list?
ASUS Radeon HD 3450 EAH3450/HTP/256M Fanless Video Card Can I run 2 DVI monitors from this video card? I have another 19" LCD and it'd be cool to have a dual monitor setup. If not, are there any fanless video cards that will run dual DVI monitors? Thanks for any and all input!! Bruce Hi Bruce, The ...
