Ways to clean mobos and PCB boards APART from compressed air

Hi all As part of some recent PC problems I've been having, I am taking my PC apart and giving it a good clean out. Aside from compressed air, what other methods are recommended for cleaning the motherboard and other PCB boards? I was thinking/hoping to brush of the dust and dirt, but I presume a sy...

Hi

I have managed to do that now and the TFTs do indeed work on the laptop..... So do you think that points to the GC or something else?

Cheers for the reply

Re: Anyone using a MSI 8600GT Silent edition 256MB PCIe GC?

I know this isn't directly related to your question, but I can assure you that the DP35DP most certainly does remap memory. The issue is your OS, not the board. Thanks for that info. TBH, since building my PC I have not kept up with anything PC build related and so my memory is really quite hazy. I...

Re: Anyone using a MSI 8600GT Silent edition 256MB PCIe GC?

I had a passive MSI 8600GT S A more modern alternative might be something like a passive HD6670 , although I'm not sure how easy it will be to find a new card with <1GB. Thanks for that. I'll check that card out..... Would I be able to run two monitors with it? And that's a good thing to point out ...

Anyone using a MSI 8600GT Silent edition 256MB PCIe GC?

Hi all Following my other recent post in which I suspect that my PNY 9600GT GC is formally deceased, I am thinking of downgrading and replacing to determine whether the GC is definitely the problem. I originally bought the 9600GT so that I could dual boot and use the PC for games occasionally too......

My PC Monitors have suddenly stopped working... Please help!

Hi all I suddenly lost all signal to my TFTs tonight. They remain on standby, but shutting down/booting up the PC does not get them going as it usually does. I've checked all the connections, and I've just taken the graphics card out to give the slot and connectors a clean. Re-installed and no luck....

I'd have to agree with that. I think you would need amazing air flow and fans a plenty to get away with it. I think the same goes for the HD4850, although I'm sure there are a few around here who have got them to run passively......perhaps they could explain the whys and wheres and how? The 9600GT O...

Will my Ramsinks fall off!?!

Hi all Ive bought some of these heatsinks: http://www.eclipsecomputers.com/product.aspx?code=HFT-CLC0025&af=50 = Thermaltake CL-C0025, to put on my 9600GT which I will be treating with an Accelero S1 Rev2 as well. I didn't expect them to be quite this heavy, and I'm a bit concerned about how well th...

This is the case I got: http://www.paqt.co.uk/ I went for the full on £276 package which seems a lot at first, but bear in mind you get a PSU (Seasonic), a decent CPU cooler and fan, and Rack ears (which I needed). With the right components, this case really is silent...worth the money if you want ...

The 9600GT is head and shoulders (maybe torso too) above the 3650, which would not be too good for games I dont think. I dont think the ASUS cooler is all that good compared to the Accelero, from what I have read. What is your case/system like in terms of air flow? Are you not up for custom fitting ...

Hi You are probably best waiting for a more qualified answer, as what I'm now going to say is based on my memory - which isnt what it used to be! I was recently looking at getting either a 9600GT or a HD3870. Now, I THINK the HD3870 has an internal connection option whereby you can set it up so that...

Would you be happy with DVI outputs and a HDMI adapter?

Do you intend to play games now or in the future, is it it solely for movies? ANything else you will be using the computer for?

Hi Ive got a new 9600GT - well it was open box actually so I'm not sure how old it is. Anyhow, I noticed today in GPU-Z that it is Revision A1...and I got to wondering if there are later revisions? If anyone who has a 9600GT (especially a new one) can check what revision there's is, I would really a...

System RAM reduced with new GC Installed

Hi all Since installing my 9600GT 512 MB, I've noticed my system RAM in "System Properties" has gone from 3.24 to 2.99GB (I have 4GB installed). This makes sense because my previous card was 256MB...
