The Gigabyte GA-MA74GM-S2 is only the 740G, the successor of the 690G so it's not as powerful (and power consuming according to the review here on silentpcreview.com) as the 780G. It's almost priced the same as the Abit so if it's as good in idle I might as well get the Gigabyte. Ooops, you are rig...

Right now I'm torn between the Abit AN-M2 and the Gigabyte GA-MA74GM-S2 Sure the new AMD 780G chipset (and 8200 NVidia) are very powerfully. But du you really need the new features (Hardware HD support, PCIe 2.0 for PEG, 6 SATA ports) in a NAS? I wouldn't need it :). And now you make me doubt the C...

Also I wonder about the GeForce 7025 motherboard. I need to figure out how to get those <0.800V settings. CPU-Undervolting less 0.8V can be dangerous, because it gives a new AMD Spec. since K8, Model F for voltage less 0.8V. Some mainboard manufacturer implemented the new specs, some not (correctly...

AFAIK the lowest power consuming motherboards are normaly these with NVidia GForce 7025/7050 chipsets. Now that I have got this working from the command line, I would like to have cpupowerd start automatically when the machine is powered on, but there seems to be a lack of infomation on how this is done. Does anyone else have some suggestions? On a server without a desktop environment (e.g. Gnome) y...

CPU voltage and frequency regulation is controlled by kernel modules. Thats true, but undervolting can't be done with original kernel modules ("only" the Cool'nQuiet voltages). During idle or low demand my BE-2400 2.3 GHz AM2 dual core CPU runs at 1 GHz and 0.99 - 1.01 Vcore. Maximum demand is 2.3 ...
