Just a followup to my post above, I decided to ask Seasonic if there were any issues with a UPS operating with simulated sine wave, which was a question I asked Enermax and was assured there wouldn't be any problem. The fellow from Seasonic said he didn't think there would be an issue with any UPS,...

At least it's a 140mm and not the ever stupid 135mm ... but then I see the spec says 13.9cm so are we looking at another hack job to get a proper 140mm in place? Not really, that's where the "engineering" part arises. My point is: maybe the difference isn't dramatic, but there is a difference (both in decibels and frequency) and you can't conclude anything about this as perception is subjective. Most definitely I can conclude lots: The thing we're talking a...

Obviously I mean logarithmically additive as we are talking about decibels, I studied signals theory at the computer engineering faculty, I don't need lessons on this :) It sounded like you needed a practical lesson -- you countered Jipa's comment about how a stock HD5970 will drown out any differe...

If you have a stock HD5970 in the case, you're hardly going to hear the difference between grill on and off anyway  You should know decibels are additive Not exactly. If you have 2 fans that each measures 20 dBA/1m by itself, together they will measure 23 dbA at 1m -- not 40. They will sound ...

Also... it doesn't fit very long video cards like ATI HD 5970. Actually, per the Silverstone site, it does fit long cards. There is even a picture of the case with an ATI 5970 installed. I've seen a picture where the user removed the grill on one of the three 180mm fans in order to fit a 5970 card.

Got a link for your board? It's an Intel S5520SC , dual socket board. Physically it really is 12x13" and would need the full 13 inch vertically in the FT02. Unless Silverstone is currently busy redesigning the chassis to be a couple of inches taller, it won't go. Shame really as the concept is perf...

I like this case, but it's a shame that you can't replace the 180mm fans with quieter fans like Scythe S-FLEX because most "quiet-oriented" fans (Scythe S-FLEX, Noctua etc.) are 120mm fans.

It would be nice if it was predisposed to use 180mm fans or 120mm fans.

I have two SFF12D and one SFF12E. None of them whine. A whoosh is audible at or above 800 rpm. I use mine at 600 rpm. If you value airflow above all, you might consider getting a Scythe Slipstream. Pushes more air than a S-Flex and is quieter at high rpm. The downside is that Slipstreams have an al...

What about undervolted S-FLEX 1200rpm? And it's still usable (not silent but usable) over 900-1000 rpm if needed, while Slipstream become VERY noisy over that speed.

I don't know if bearing content is really "pure", but I don't also know if it's a good idea to add other dust and impurities.
