Re: Reserator + Ati 5970 ....
Naturally, this works. All you have to provide are appropriate tubing connectors. I have CPU E8400 + NB + PowerColor 5870 LCS (EK waterblock) all on Res2. But know that even two res1 units probably won't be able to cool a 5970, at least passively. My setup gets quite warm when gaming. It's borderlin...

Re: Noise level of water pumps
Not entirely true. I WC a C2D E8400@3.5 GHz (can go to 4.6, but I don't really need it there :) ) + a Radeon 5870 @ Stock This is all done using a Zalman Reserator 2 (completely stripped down, just a radiator now) + 2 pumps (Laing DDC-1T + EK-DCP 2.2.) Pumps are near silent, but you really need to w...

Re: Definitive Answer Needed: 2 pumps with a Resorator?
I originally added a Laing DDC-1T
Right now I just run the whole system with the Laing + a EK-DCP 2.2. I removed the pump in the reserator because it didn't feel like it was pushing much water.

Probably so. However, I've spent considerable time looking for a soluton that would fit all my requirements. NMTs were definitely considered, especially because a friend of mine has one and it's working relatively well (Great with media, sux at CPU - menus). Anything but PC was ruled out pretty much...

Hm, I have the latest drivers (9.11), taken directly from AMD. MPC-HC plays all content without a problem using ffdshow. However, when I try to use Cyberlink or Avivo decoder (using DXVA), I have problems. There is however a problem: I'm using MediaPortal as HTPC software of choice and it won't allo...

Radeon HD 3300 (integrated) underpowered for playing video?
I've recently bought a Gigabyte GA-MA790GPT-UD3H motherboard with 790GX chipset deaturing a Radeon HD 3300 with 128MB of SidePort (dedicated) memory. The primary and only purpose for this PC was media playback. While ffdshow played full HD content without a problem with <60% CPU usage (Athlon II 250...

Hm, thanks for the replies, guys. I haven't yet tried to unplug the monitor, but I know the Samsungs only take 10W. I have checked power readings before plugging them in. I don't know how much my Seagate takes. It wasn't even supposed to be in the setup any more, but 80GB Intels are nowhere to be fo...

Can't get my HTPC under 80W
I've recently bought a few components for my HTPC for two reasons: my existing Athlon 64 X2@2GHz was using 100W+ and it wasn't powerful enough to play back full HD content. My new setup: Case: Thermaltake DH-102 (with 7" LCD) Power supply: LC Power LC5550 MB: Gigabyte GA-MA790GPT-UD3H (Video onboard...

I have an E8400 + 8800GTS + chipset cooled with a Reserator 2. Chasis is Antec's P180. I had to install a temporary solution while the Reserator was in repairs and this solution had just one single 120mm rad, mounted on chasis 120mm fan out. The rad was still in the case. It was also the shallow ver...

I currently have a copper radiator in my loop. I managed to convince the retailer that there's something really wrong with my Res and they had it for more than a month now. I had to have some kind of a replacement setup in between. It's funny how Zalman sent them replacement parts they requested, bu...

Well, on their web site, Reserator 1 v2 and Reserator XT are still being showcased. To be honest, I always thought that if I ever needed to move, I'd move to XT, certainly not to 1. The XT on the other hand has a pretty inefficient design. No natural convection, everything has to be done by that fan...

AFAIK the alarm only triggers when the sensor no longer detects the indicator spinning. I've had the system on much higher temperatures than today, yet it always worked fine. Reserator itself has no connection to the CPU temp. The CPU shuts itself down when it reaches 80 degrees celsius. I know that...

"#$#%!"%"#%$%#"$"$%!%"$ After ONLY two weeks, it fails again!!!!! Grrrrrrr!!!!! :x This time it just sounds the alarm although the indicator still spins like mad. Even after it shuts down its own pump, the secondary pump I installed pushes the water around just fine and the indicator is still spinni...

Thanks for the info Olle P. I've managed to find one online store that sells these in Slovenia. But I don't know what to buy!!! What's the difference between Q,QL, QLK, QLN and QLZ lines? I've looked at 24V ones as suggested and comparing specs among them really doesn't tell much... And what about t...

@Olle P: Yes, that may do the trick. I just need to find good placement for the fan. @El Jefe: I know peltiers add to the total heat. I only mentioned it because in this case it would be rather ideal. The greater the temperature difference, the more energy is released from the radiator. So a peltier...

I don't know, since I only have v2. However, judging by design, v2 should be able to dissipate more than v1. Mine manages room temp + 10 deg celsius for a 120W load. Naturally, fully loading my computer (220W) would raise water temperatures further, but I don't recall it ever exceeding 20 degrees ce...

Great info Olle P and johnyj. I've been thinking about inserting fixed plastic L-joints in those nasty corners. This way I'd be sure that the tubes would never jam at the bends. johnyj: is there enough room to do that in the unit? just to be clear, i'm thinking about this (sorry about the languange ...

@El Jefe: I'm sorry, but water wetter is not available in my country and I also don't know what it's composed of, so I can't find a substitute. But I also believe that Zalman's liquid should be capable of preventing algae growth when there's sufficient quantity of it. So I guess, I'll just throughly...

Reserator 2 problems
Hi guys Been reading SPCR + forums for quite a while, but now it seems I have a problem I can't solve just by reading. This is what I sent to (support at zalman dot co dot kr) hoping that they will reply. I'm also hoping any of you can help me with this, except for the RMA issue, of course ;) Dear Z...
