Sorry about the late reply. Regarding speedfan. I believe it only runs in windows, but if your building a gaming comp. I guess that's would be the OS you are using :) Apart from that there should'nt be any special requierements. As to your other questions. I also used a WD caviar green drive. As for...

I bought a scythe Minja and swapped the PSU fan with the Minja fan following this simple guide: http://www.silentpcreview.com/Simple_PSU_Fan_Swap_Technique Weren't that difficult and it reduced the noice level ...

Weird speedfan readings
Hi. I recently installed speedfan and I'm getting some very weird readings. First of all: Temp1: 33C Temp2: 30C so far so good. Aren't quite sure what Temp1 and Temp2 are refering too but I'm guessing some sensors on the mobo? Anyway 30 degrees sounds fine no matter what. Here comes the weird part. ...

Nice htpc system you've set up hybrid. (Especially considering it's 1½ year old : ) Just ordered my NSK2480 case. Will be ordering the rest of the parts as I get some money. (Being a student does not pay as well as I'd like it to.) I'll probably go with the parts specified in the top of the thread ...

As far as I can see they are both 45nm
It's rather weird that intel has two processors called E6300 though. This one and a core 2 duo model :s
Here's a side by side comparison of the E7400 and the E6300 I'm considering

You should have no problem running the minja without a fan on even without undervolting. I would second the recommendation to replace the Tri-cools right away. Also, you can do what I and a few others on here have done, which is to take the 80mm fan included with the minja, and swap it into the Ant...

I actually already have a 500GB caviar green model lying around so that is what I'll be using :) Regarding the PSU. To be honest I haven't really researched it much but I'm guessing that with this build that will probably be the most noisy component? If it needs to be changed the only likely candida...
