2 dead fans, advice for replacements.
I had two fans. A yate loon DS12 was mounted vertically on a Scythe Mugen. I also had a Scythe SY1225SL12LM-P mounted horizontally to the top of an Antec 180. Both are dead. A second Yate Loon is still running on the Mugen, as well as a Nexus DS12 on the back out of the case. What would you recommen...

Re: Loud XFX 5770 stock heatsink/Best course of action.
I'm now idling at 74C, or at least I was. Now its reading, 57C. Strange. Nevermind, its back down to 45. Something I was doing was idle.
It MUST be installed wrong. Did you use the white spacers?

Re: Loud XFX 5770 stock heatsink/Best course of action.
I put in the L2 Pro the other day and the thing is definitely quieter now. 41% of 12V is about 5V? Correct? Or does it even work this way. It effectively silenced the cooling solution on that card, as changing the PWM from 41% to say 20% cannot be detected, and thus I can't even hear the L2 Pro. I u...

WD7500AAKS noise.
I recently bought a used WD7500AAKS thinking I was getting a silent drive, partly due to the 500AAKS recommendation from SPCR. However, when teracopy changes to a new file.....it actually makes quite a bit of noise. Is this normal? Is there anyway to alleviate it? Will turning on accoustic managemen...

Gonna buy a L2 Pro this week. Just gonna go after the immediate problem and fix it. My other VisionTek 5770 with the egg cooler is not nearly as loud at the XFX stock cooler...........in the same case, with the same cooling. I don't really care how hot my cards run, just as long as they are quiet. I...

any word on the accelero and its silencing capability? I'm gonna try the intake fan here tomorrow and I seriously doubt its gonna change anything. The cooling method on this card is just atrocious. don't want to bring bad news.....but.... http://www.overclock.net/air-cooling/625281-radeon-5770-accel...

Just to report in. I took off the heatsink on the XFX 5770 and put a rice sized dot...maybe less...on the chip. Sealed it all back up. Very Very easy to do..BTW, first time I've ever done a GPU. Anyway....its still loud. Maybe shaved 10C off the thing, 80C vs. 90-95C under 99% load. (Not the same 99...

Jefe, whatever you do, please let me know. I'm still hesitant on the correct way to go about this. XFX stock AMD cooler on the 5770 is a piece of poo. I hate it so badly. SO noisy when gaming. thinking of doing the AS5 and front intake cooler. problem is, the front intake on my P180 isn't *that* gre...

No, I can't reduce RPM. The card is way too hot. I *think* a Unigen Heaven run was putting it at almost 90C with stock RPM settings. It's not like I actually value XFX's so called warranty. I would be willing to bet they wouldn't give it to me anyway. I thought someone said the Accelero S1 Rev.2 can...

Loud XFX 5770 stock heatsink/Best course of action.
I have a Crossfire 5770 setup and one of my video cards gets very very loud when gaming (SC2). Its the stock type cooler seen here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150447. The other 5770 is an egg type cooler and doesn't make anywhere near as much noise. I am wondering what t...

I just came across another recent link to this old thread. Might as well update it.....most of the picture links don't work anymore. But you don't need pictures. You use two zip-ties as a nut and bolt.....eight zip ties total for a fan with four holes. To isolate the fan from the panel you can use ...

P180 Rear stock fan vibrating on low setting. Suggestions?
My P180 has been plagued by a problem for probably the last year. The rear fan which is still Tricool stock vibrates quite abit, causing some noise. I took the fan out and held it in my hands, and the fan is vibrating but not causing any noise in itself. I dusted it off, and screwed it in very tight...
