Just a little update...i got seasonic x-560....its the new x series with hybrid fan control (same as x-650 reviewed here)....mainly because of price, and that i didn't want heat buildup from fanles psu while i am gaming.... Does anyone have any experience with the new x-560....i read some reviews on...

My father has a grocery store....also a lot of traffic and offcorse a lot of dust.....after a while I did the following.... got passive cooling gpu (some old radeon), passive cooling cpu heatsink....well to be honest....there is a fan on the heat sink....but it stopped spinning because of a dust.......

Oh i forgot....my case is Cosmos 1000 with bottom mounted psu....becouse i want to lover the heat transfered to my gpu (heat rises from the psu to gpu) i want to mount the psu venting holes facing down.....will that be ok?

i have xfx 5670 1 gb.....with accelero S1 rev.2 mounted....it has no direct airflow over it....and only 1 intake and 1 exoust on the case spinning at 600 rpm......and it still iddles around 36-38 depending of the room temp...

I think you shouldnt go below 400w...for now i think you can pass with 300w....but in the future..even with the low end gpu, tv card... 400w is minimum ..... I have: phenom II 1055t (x6) 2 samsung hdd-s (1 tb, 500 gb) 4 gb ram ati 5670 (low end gpu) dvd rw external fan controller by my calculations....

what fans are in that ?....have you tried adjusting their speed ? The case fans are the one that came with the Antec P183 which are their tri-cool fans. They have 3 settings: low, medium, and high. I've made sure that both are set to low. I installed EVGA's Precision software and it gave a readout ...

hmm....about the fans....i used 4 gentle typhoons 1150 rpm hooked up to 2 mbo connectors using Y splitter.... used asus fan xpert ant it was ok....GT are 3 wire fans....and they are very, very quiet.........to be able to control all of them this is what i did.....2 gt-s on cpu fan connector, 2 gt-s ...

i read somewhere that linux drivers sometimes have a problem with load/iddle transitions ..... i had ubuntu on my notebook and somethimes cpu load remained high even when it should be iddle ... i am not an expert on this, i am just telling you what happened to me...

i was thinking of suspending HDD but the thing is.....when you look at the psu and hdd noise....psu noise is 80% off their combined noise.....and i was thinking of swapping the psu fan but here i come to a problem....the fan is 135 mm.... and i cant find reaplacment one.....at least not quiet one...

after some tests, lot of reading and more testing i came to best performance/noise ratio for my cosmos...... http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/3821/feature10.th.jpg with just these 3 fans at 600 rpms, its dead silent (except for psu and hdd noise, but i can silence that only with buying new one)......

i can get this for under 200$ from a friend of a friend ......here in croatia the cheapest 128 gb ssd is 400$ .....the math is simple....price in US dollars = price in EURO + 20-30 % ;.).....that means if something costs 10$ in US it will cost 13€ here....

wwwwoooooowww.....i unplugged samsung 500 gb hdd and... its a miracle.....its 30% quieter.... i didn't think that it would be so much difference.....i guess i am going with my plan....ssd system + wd eco green storage...

In the future (when $$ situation slightly improves) i am planning on getting 128 gb ssd to use for windows 7 system and 1 or 2 1,5tb wd eco greens... Now my question is this.....becouse most of the games are very large now days....how much difference will there be if i run them from 5400 hdd instead...

yupiiii :-)..... mugen is installed and ready :-).... the installation wasnt hard as i expected......with my roommates help it was over in 15 minutes.... idle temp with fan running at 500 rpm is 33-35 C....and passive the temp is 38-40 C...so ill go passive.... here are some pictures of the process....
