HTPC: snappy, quiet, efficient
Bought my last PC 9 years ago. Core 2 Duo still running great and all but it's huge and a little bit noisy. Came here for the parts btw but now it's time for something new cause I don't game anymore and I want to fit the thing in my entertainment unit. First I contemplated the idea of a NUC but I th...

Re: Cooler Master Silencio 450: Silence on a Budget?
^^ what he said and I'll even add design. most new cases I see seem to come directly from the 90's. I mean... I dont like dragon and tanks, but give me something classy with a cool look that will fit in my room or my equipment rack! This case makes me feel exactly the same as if I was looking at a 1...

BTW, pretty much all the zalman HTPC cases have had bad reviews.
I understand your pain tho... not a lot of HTPC cases deserve a place in the rack 'cause they are downright ugly!

Re: Silverstone Fortress FT03 microATX Tower
I still think I'd go with this case only for the looks and form factor. This unit would be beautiful beside a tv set. I'm pretty sure that by carefully choosing the components, you can still achieve something quiet. AKA: change the fans, unmount the main one and go for a double fan cpu cooler, prope...

Re: Silverstone FT03
they finally did a review! But it looks disappointing! :( Bummer cuz this is really the most beautiful computer case I've seen in a while!! Small footprint and classy desing. I have a P-180 right now and I consider it too large for my needs/taste and I don't wanna be stuck with something that big ag...

Re: OpenGL problem in Photoshop - do I need a new (quiet) ca
Hey there. Just wanted to know about the card. does it actually perform well? I mean... the card itself is getting old but this is the quietest card 125$ can buy. I'm aiming for a silent rig but I don't want to compromise performance TOO much... are there any other quiet alternatives? like a new car...

Re: photoshop
i5 2500/i7 2600 8gb of ram SSD drive games I play aren't really specific in genres. I can't comment on that one. But I don't really need something strong. My GTX260 presently gives me great performance but it's not silent at all and I'd like to be able to pass sound thru HDMI. screen resolutions: 10...

No need to extrapolate on the details - 150-200 budget - silent/quiet - latest features Photoshop and occasional gaming (once per 2 months) Now should I go the card+cooler way and build them myself (I'd rather not but not afraid to get my hands dirty) or should I just look on the market for a silent...

My next server case for sure!
I'll be moving my C2D, 6HDD main rig in that thing and keep my P180 for the new one!

Case recommendations plz
Hey there. I'm planning to build a rig for christmas and I'm completely clueless about the case. I currently have the original P180 but I'm not really satisfied of its performance. Something is surely wrong with my hardware layout. Anyhow, I'm on my 5th year with this PC and will be recycling for me...
