Re: Fan Control on Sandy Bridge/Fractal R3 system
I don't know if this is helpful as my parts are slightly different, but I just got a new build (in the p183) with the sandybridge i5 2500k chip on a gigabyte H67MA-USB3-B3 motherboard, I installed a cheap rheosmart 3 channel fan controller to control the two case fans (slipstream 1200RPM) with manua...

Re: fan placement in new p183 build?
Thanks for all the helpful suggestions - Just an update regarding this build, I removed the top fan and instead put it as an intake on the front middle fan mounting grill (the screws that came with the case were actually too short to hold it into place unfortunately, but its jammed in front of that ...

Re: fan placement in new p183 build?
The intel stock cpu coolers are 4pin, so it should be able to be controlled by the bios as long as the mobo supports it and you are using a 4pin connector. Yeah I checked and found that the CPU fan is connected with 4pin and it is adjustable in bios (and presumably with speedfan) speedfan and bios ...

Re: fan placement in new p183 build?
Thanks for the reply Abula, The fan mounted on the top also makes a fair bit of noise, ill have to see after I get a fan controller but that fan might (hopefully) not even be needed . I dont know much about airflow dynamics but theres plenty of room in there and no video card so maybe just the one f...

Re: seasonic 400w fanless or x-series 650 in an p183?
In a P183, either one would be fine, especially if you put a slow case fan in the middle of the bottom chamber. The 400 will be slightly more efficient, and somewhat more expensive. how do you mean the 400w would be more expensive? running cost would be the same presumably,. . . its the same price ...
