Re: Boring but silent

Hi Akustyk - My parts arrived and I built the system -- not without some teeth gnashing and hair pulling when it came time to securely fasten the fan (and keep it fastened) to the Thermalright H-02. But it's whisper quiet. Just what I wanted. I'll post more details and observations at a later time. ...

Re: Boring but silent

Yes, 4 fan headers. I used a Gelid PWM fan Y-cable. There's enough power in a header to power two fans easily. So I connected two intake fans to one header with the splitter. I think that the fan mounted on the upper HDD cage will provide some needed airflow for your video card. I wouldn't worry ab...

Re: Boring but silent

In looking at your pictures again, I noticed that your memory looks like it's silver colored. Is that Kingston Value Ram? Sorry, forgot to mention that the RAM is Kingston HyperX Grey Series 4 x 4 GB sticks. I like their neutral look. Man, you think like I do! It's a great look. The inside of your ...

Also if you're in the US and live near a Home Depot, they carry them in the electrical departmen...

Re: Boring but silent

Thanks for the good information. This is my first build from scratch. For years though, I've been upgrading and replacing parts. 2. You're correct about the fans! Yes, I chose the Gelid because of the slightly higher RPM range, and I also just happened to have it from an older build, and it comes wi...

Re: Boring but silent

Akustyk - Thanks for sharing your build. Outstanding! I love the simple, clean precision of your work. I came across your post and immediately told myself this is exactly what I'm looking to build. I have a few questions for you if you don't mind . . . 1. HDD & SSD Placement: Since the upper HDD cag...
