Re: Planned Green ITX BUild
Have you actually used a computer with an SSD? I can't _stand_ working on computers without SSDs now.

Re: quiet CAD workstation
The V4900 is the better card as far as my research showed me. Certainly the best bang for buck. Everything better is ludicrously expensive. See my 'review' of my Cad / Solidworks station http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=66341 I have one V4900 in the office with the stock coo...

My 'silent' Cad Workstation Build
I work for a smaller company and one of my hats is PC builds and maintenance. I'm posting this to hopefully save someones time. The heaviest uses of our PCs are Autocad and Solidworks. We have many computers in single rooms, so keeping them reasonably quiet and maintenance free is one of my main goa...

Re: SpeedFan: A Guide to Universal Motherboard Fan Control
Thanks for this write up. I had never bothered to play around with speedfan much in the past, other than a quick check of temps. I was previously using a Corsair Link in an attempt to get acceptable fan control, which worked accept it is currently unable to turn a fan completely off. This annoyed me...

Re: Silverstone Fortress FT03 microATX Tower
I have this case and have good thermals. The case DOES have flaws, but it if you pick your components properly. Basics: 2500k, Crossfire Gigabyte Silentcell 6770s (they have no fans and work well vertically) CPU cooling is a Thermalright HR02 with one of their 140mm in 120mm form fans BLOWING DOWN. ...

Re: FT02 Top Fan (120mm)
I guess my point was, try removing the bottom fans and just use the top

Re: FT02 Top Fan (120mm)
I don't know your system specifics, nor am I a physics major. But, I work in tunnels and know a little about fans. Mainly, that's fans suck a lot better than they blow. I'm building a FT03 box (same idea quite different execution) and plan on having everything 'passively cooled'. That's 2x 6770 rade...
