Looks good. Why not ditch your card reader and floppy and get this instead The mitsumi combo floppy/card reader would only take up one 3.5 bay too. Also, you might want to buy two nexus fans instead of one and suspend your HDD from the 3.5 bays in front of the intake fan. I'm not familiar with your ...

For grill removal, why don't you try it and see? It takes 5 minutes to find out. Ditto. Depending on the grill, maybe not even 5 minutes. Fan decoupling is one that I think I'm actually against the crowd on (or the crowd is split on this). It's been my opinion that a decent, slow moving and well ba...

HDD manufacturers have their own 'claims' about the db ratings. Some use 'A' weighted dbA numbers, some use raw db numbers, some use Sone numbers (EU). They all try to quantify the noise output of their products in such a way to increase their marketability. The only TRUE way to compare noise levels...

I concur with the others. Don't trust your BIOS readings, a multimeter is much more accurate.

Anyways, I'm curious on the performance of those fan connectors: http://www.silentpcreview.com/files/images/seasonic-s12/adapters.jpg Are they similar to FAN ONLY connectors of Antec TruePower PSU's? Do they ramp up in the same way? (ie. PSU fan voltage == connected fan voltage)? Yeah, I wondered a...

That's going to be quite a setup there when it's done. The 3000B is a nice case. You might also want to consider a variant of the compucase LX-6A19 (D8000, etc.) or an Evercase 4252 (there are dozens) depending on availability in your area. Or if you can wait, the P180 looks promising. For PSU, I th...

I got three of the M3 80mm Chinaflo M1BX's ... Their code is "4J". After running them for 24+ hrs to break them in, here's what I found: One is pretty bad, with very noticeable clicking even at 5V. I'll have to agree with Ralf on this one. I just received my two fans from Dorothy this morning (very...

Wow! That is the cleanest setup I've seen in a long time! VERY nicely done! The only suggestions I can come up with would be to install a partition between the bottom of your PSU intake and the optical drives to keep the CPU heated air from getting sucked into your PSU and causing that fan to ramp u...

I can't match any of those uptimes! I usually upgrade before failure. My current PSU is a modified Fortron 300W (check sig) and it's been running mostly 24/7 for the past 1.5-years with zero problems. I'm already thinking of upgrading it to a new S12-380 when they become more widely available.

Looks exactly like a D8000 from CoolCases. It's just a Compucase LX-6A19 (or 6A21) that's been modded. Pretty pricey though. Coolcases is cheaper.
Good case. I've built a few using this. You'll love it.

Re: are these grommets goode nough?
if i use the black ones, there'll be a gap between the casing and the fan frame. Are there any drawbacks to this? Only if you're trying to induce a positive/negative atmosphere inside your case. An example would be when watercooling, you're fan would need to be sealed to a spacer/plenum in between ...

I don't think removing the shim is a good idea, I'd agree with that! I have the ZM-80 (original one-pipe) hooked to my 9800Pro and it works just fine with minimal airflow from my front 120mm. I think the shim varies in thickness on some models, on mine, I can see daylight between the block and the ...
