Seasonic G360 died after 1 month!
Today my pc didn't boot. Not a single beep or fan movement ... Yep The PSU is dead! The paperclicp trick confirmed it. All the other parts are still fully ok. So the seasonic G360 lasted less than a month !! That PSU was not a lucky number I guess. :-/ I'm good for a replacement under warranty. Does...

Thanks lodestar for these graph and extra info.
I decided to go for a G-360 based on all the feedback received, reading suggestion and personal findings/readings
Assembling all the parts together and booting up the new system shall be end of this week if the PSU is delivered on-time

Re: exemple of gaming PC under 1150$ (France)
G360 (80+Gold) instead of S12II (80+Bronze) is probably too short from a power percpective. But I recon a G-450 could have been a good choice too. Check CA_Steve build = 318W stress test (Prime95 + Furmark), this is with a less efficient GPU, your shouldnt ever get close to 300W, and this is furmar...

Re: exemple of gaming PC under 1150$ (France)
From a noise percpective, I would agree. From a price percpective, the cheapest WD with 1Tb is a Blue 7200rpm; 5400 were as cheap or more expensive than WD10EZEX G360 (80+Gold) instead of S12II (80+Bronze) is probably too short from a power percpective. But I recon a G-450 could have been a good cho...

Re: exemple of gaming PC under 1150$ (France)
The Blue version I've select is WD10EZEX Its specs are: SATA 6 Gb/s, 7200RPM and 64 MB cache. The only difference with Red and Green is the intellipower => which influence the spin up and spin down during usage. I realize that the S12II is an old model however it seemed of good quality. Digging furt...

Re: A config parts to review to your experienced eys
Fractal Define R4, noted. I like this tour. Shinoby XL was oversized indeed. For the GPU, I keep forgetting the embedded GPU, so for my day2day needs I would not need the external GPU. So I guess a GPU with a fan would not be killing my quest of quietness as long as I don't play. and will be of use ...

Re: A config parts to review to your experienced eys
Welcome to SPCR. Thanks! First, your motherboard isn't compatible with Haswell Socket 1150 CPUs. Look at Asus' Z87 boards (if you plan to overclock or need the features) or the H8x seiries if you don't. Oh damned. You're dead right. I started with a Core i7 with the P7X79 and drawed it back in the ...

A config parts to review to your experienced eys
Guys, After a long long period, I'm back and willing to build a pc. The objective is: 1) silent PC when doing broswing, mailing, office, (vitual machine) etc. But no video processing stuff, except viewing a mkv :-) 2) casual top quality gaming with PC (nothing than an 1h-2h session once a week or so...
