The ATX version of this case is simply gorgeous http://www.phanteks.com/Enthoo-EVOLV-ATX.html
but it suffers from the same stupid design flaws.
They have another ATX with the same interior https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zheXtXgpCUg
this one branded "budget", go figure.

Re: Corsair Carbide 500R Performance Mid-Tower
Demciflex has a set of filters for this case. The side one is a must, otherwise that fan will be a dust magnet. It should reduce noise a bit too. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CM-047-DF&campaign=affiliate/tag The 200mm Bitfenix Spectre Pro will fit the screw holes on the side...

Re: NZXT H440 Mid Tower Case
Thanks for the article. This is one of the most elegant cases on sale, but it is soooo airflow restricted. It's difficult to understand the design choices when the Fractal R4 was there as an example of how to balance silence and airflow. The H440 even had the advantage of a top cover, but they waste...

I wonder how different it would be replacing the stock case fans with 3x Noiseblocker Multiframe.
Also I don't understand why one GPU is so much hotter than the other (I presume GPU1 is the one upper on the motherboard).

Re: As you get older are you planning for bad times?
After WW2 the Western World embarked in what I can only call a Socialist madness, the so called Welfare States. By the late sixties it was already apparent the system was insolvent. The Bretton Woods (and with it the Gold Standard) was abandoned, Central Banks and the financial system were given fre...

Re: Easiest, simplest micro-ATX to build silent PC in?
I would go with the Fractal Node 804. It's well built with quality panels, it has a thick top dust filter and a front cover which helps dampen noise. The secondary chamber will allow for a fanless PSU because it would sit horizontally and there's the rear and top grills to let warm out. The SSDs/HDD...

Re: Phanteks PH-TC14S & Cyrorig C1 CPU Coolers
I wonder if a silent 120mm fan would do a proper job here (with the Phanteks PH-TC14S). I like these dual tower heatsinks with single fan. The reason is that with the fan protected on both sides it doesn't suffer from the top case fan interference, as you can see here: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardwa...

Re: Quiet Liquid Cooled Gaming PC Build Guide
The parts for the crossfire version are coming. Two possibilities pursued w/ fullcover waterblock on 2nd 290 (and X actually) -- using 6 fans on radiator on push-pull mode or adding a 2-fan radiator in the loop in front. The latter will assure good cooling, and perhaps little-or-no increase in nois...

Great article! Thank you.
There's a typo at the beginning of page 6, the Intel i5 is 4690 and not 4790 (you meant the i7 I suppose).

@MikeC
Would you consider a build with the Fractal Node 804? I find it the best cube case at the moment.

There's a typo in page 5.
The legend of the first photo says the fans are of 92mm (they are 120s).

Epic article! Many thanks.
I wonder what would happen if you had all fans as intake (with the Noctuas blowing to the rear).

Re: Quiet Mini-ITX Gamer Build Guide
I totally disagree with the choice of PSU for this case. The top vent is covered by the motherboard tray and there's no fan blowing on the down side (lots of cabling there anyway). The Seasonic would be a good choice for the Fractal R5 with a second front fan and lots of back vents to let the warm o...

Re: Quiet ATX Gamer, R5 Version
Thanks for the review, the R5 is definitely a winner. There's a typo in the second paragraph: In the middle of our work on that system, we took delivery of a sample of the new Fractal Design Define R5, the next generation of the R4 which will be in the stores in December. A 10-minute examination was...

Re: SPCR's Holiday ATX Gaming Build Guide
My Afterburner profile is persistent on my 650 Ti at least. Past versions of Afterburner would fail to start with Windows after a reboot, but the card would follow the profile I had set up manually anyway. I don't know if Afterburner saves the profile onboard the card, but that would be my guess. T...

Re: Define R5 review
I think this R5 is brilliantly designed, with lots of small yet important improvements like the non-restrictive HDD cages or the large grilled vents at the back. I bet that a second intake fan bellow the included one would be sufficient to lower temps dramatically, creating positive pressure and exh...

Re: SPCR's Holiday ATX Gaming Build Guide
Just one question.
If we use GPU Tweak (or MSI Afterburner) to create a custom fan profile does the utility have to start with Windows? Or does it store the changes somewhere?
Thanks.

Re: SPCR's Holiday ATX Gaming Build Guide
You're right, it took a while to find the particular screen on GPU Tweak, but I have it running now. Looks like the minimum speed the fan will run at on AUTO even with user defined fan profile is 35%. So it is set to turn on at 65C @ 35%, then 38% at 80C. and 50% at 100C -- the last just in case. N...

Hi Lawrence, thanks for the review.
Just one thing. Are you sure you can't create a fan profile with GPU Tweak?
