*update* Just found a thread that sheds some more light on this: Every WU is assigned to a specific (MachineID + UserID) and must be returned from that machine within the deadline. If it comes back from another ID or it comes back twice from the same ID credit will not be given. The fundamental issu...

I don't know where I got that from, I just don't know any better. I never given it much thought though, so I searched around a bit. The fact is that Stanford registers which machine got which WU. The machine that got the WU must also return it. Some quotes of Bruce on the folding community forum (Fo...

Just to be sure: If your laptop ever does get a connection to the internet, be sure to delete the userid again and have it fetch one for itself. Otherwise half of your WU's won't get counted for.

Probably earlier. I joined somewhere around May and there were already about 25-30 members then. I think Miker, MikeC and/or Rusty were the first to start folding, they'll know.

HTPC has a Nexus-3000. My refrigator over in the kitchen makes more noise.
My main pc has a modded AOpen PSU (came with some other case), I switched the fan for a Papst NGL. It's very quiet but the air coming out is quite warm and I'm still in doubt wether I can trust this or not.

Now post this on every forum here. And have an excuse ready for MikeC. :D
But many people don't look in this forum, I think. You could ask MikeC for a permanent "our f@h team" link somewhere on the main page. Like in the left panel somewhere at the bottom under Site Features.

Stanfords stats server down

2/11/2004 Stats down The stats are down due to a corrupted database. We'll bring it back from a backup and re-enter the recent entries. This should take a day or so. Sorry for the delay. Well at least I can get some work done now instead of staring at the colored numbers all day. http://www.leeuwer...

It is really weird, but it can't be all queued work. If you look at our last 24 hr production, we had a drop to 1168 at 18:00. Our average production over 3 hrs is around 2200. So that's about 1000 points worth of WU's that might be queued somewhere. So you'd expect a 1000 points peak above average ...

I remember reading Windows clients add a machine id to the registry also, which will no doubt be different on the "worker" pc and the internet connected pc. Hopefully this doesn't matter. Another idea to try out: connect one of your pc's via a regular modem to the internet and use a different internet provider. If you still can't get gromacs then the problem is fah or the stanfords servers. If you can get gromacs now then the problem lies either at how you connect your LAN to the int...
