I recently bought a SS-401HT from Xcase for £53.00 including delivery. I find it to be extreamly quiet (not silent) and therefore recommend it highly. But one thing surprised me though. The fan inside the psu is an ADDA one, not the Yate Loon I was expecting. This psu seems to be a cross between the...

Resonance from hard disks? Try entering "standby" if you're running Windows, that usually shuts down the drives. Alternatively, you can unplug the drives and power up I would agree with this. If the noise is cyclical then most probbably hard disk must be the culprit. It is transfering vibrations to...

This is all very intriguing. I disregarded the bulk editions after learning they were inferior to the full versions, but maybe the bulk edition is good enough, or in other words, maybe an inferior Seasonic is still superior to most other PSUs... This my thinking as well, provided the price differen...

Man that's too funny I refered to the review here at SPCR and the discussion about the review. And now it's going back to silenthardware. Most of the information I posted on silenthardware, I got from here. I had a good laugh when I noticed Mike Chin's comments being posted there word for word (tra...

There is an interesting thread at Silenthardware.de forum which is similar to ours and may shed more light on the difference between Ss-400ht and Ss-401ht models. Dear Sir, Please informed that the Ss-400ht is totally different circuit Design than does Ss-401ht. The Ss-400ht with doubles of layer PC...

I think I have worked out exactly which Seasonic model this is. It must be the SUPER TORNADO 300 - REV.03 version. Rev.03 being the most important bit. Let me prove this. Here is the Mike Chin review of the SUPER TORNADO 300 - REV.03. If you compare the the images on that review to the images posted...

No, the screws aren't in hard contact with the case. There is a rubber washer between the head of the screw and the case wall . Now I'll take a look at the AOpen PSUs, though from their notable absence from the discussions on this forum, I assume folks do not consider them 'silent' Actually they are re branded Fortran-Source psu models with the same fans and same fan control circuits. I've got a Fortron FSP350-60PN(PF) mode...

OzWiz -- I've got an AOpen board(AMD-AK79D Max) with Silenttek (version 1). It works as advertised. But it can control only 2 fans. This is a limit of the version 1 of Silenttek. In version 2 of Silenttek (recently introduced by AOpen), it seems you could also control a psu(AOpen psu) fan as well a...

SLK 800 + 92mm fan Doable?
I am thinking of installing a 92mm fan on my slk 800. Is this possible? I know Thermalright claims that it can support 80mm fan only. Has anybody in this forum successfully managed to do it? And if yes how? I would deeply appreciate your help.

helzerr --I don't think it will fit. Here is the relevant link . elitezoid -- I assume you want to do the Aphonos' 2-Drive Suspension Mod . You could buy those bungee cords from you local Maplins. jimbobUK -- I was surfing Maplin website yesterday and came across this soft touch nob which might be of interest to you. This thing is amazingly enough made of the same thermoplastic as the recommended fan isolators. You would need super glue to stick it on the case. http://www.maplin.co.uk/media/...

Here is the link where I discovered that the Zalman CNPS-7000A (socket A version) wouldn't fit. It all depends on the location of the CPU socket on the motherboard. 1. Usually there is no need to remove the right side panel. I didn't remove mine while installing components. 2.Yes, you could remove it without removing the right side panel. The case was designed to be able to do that. If you wiggle it a bit and perservere with it, it will eventually come off. It ...
