If you are really worried, you could use a shim. However, most (including Thermalright's website) agree that shims increase CPU temps by some small amount. Personally, I agree with the others who have already posted in that, if you are careful, the installation shouldn't be a problem (yes, I have in...

my other case is cooler master ATC-201 and you know how it is in those 2 front fans if you had one I hear that jinu117. I just finished installing two 800mm L1As into the front of my ATC-111 and found that curved Kelly forceps are even better for this application than curved needlenose pliers (FYI:...

Alternatively, you might consider using the larger fan isolators (for 38mm fans) to mount 25mm fans witha fan isolator. This is how I mounted a Panaflo 80mm L1A with a wire grill on the rear of my case. Refer to item number 5801K8 on the McMaster-Carr website (scroll 3/4 or so down the page). Take c...

I have decided to cool a single No-Vibes III mounted HDD using this HDD cooler cut to meet my needs/enhance airflow (using a nibbler; damn my hands are sore ) and an 92mm Panaflo L1A mounted using the EAR fan isolators. I placed this in a vacant 3.5" bay directly under the 5.25" bay in which th...

WOW How are you going to get that in your case? I agree with JEN. That looks awesome, but difficult to mount in a case (unless you have several vacant 5.25" bays or are planning to put it on the bottom of your case). Also, was the HDD outside of the case when testing(sorry, had to ask )? If s...

Just wanted to let you all know that I recently received my SIlenX PSUs. I will install them sometime within the next week and post my results. Fortissimo III 7.1 Sound Card and Logitech Z-340 Speakers
It seems that there are a fair number of threads regarding extraneous noise that has been isolated to the sound card/speakers (I now notice that my cheap computer speakers have an annoying buzz). I was just wondering if anyone has any input regarding ambient noise from the Fortissimo III 7.1 sound c...

Actually, one may purchase such a device here . I recently acquired one of these in hopes of using a molex y-splitter, two 4 pin to 3 pin adapters, and two zalman fanmates to subjectively test two fans side by side (of course, this device can also be used to test other items as well). Just waiting f...

First of all, thank you all for your input. At present, I intend to seal off the standard blowhole (using some scrap aluminum which I will cover w/dampening material) and, if possible, dremel the back of the case to accomodate two 80mm fans. I am also considering using an adapter to mount a 120mm pa...

Specifically, the intent of this thread is to notify members that, should enough people contact ExoticPC.com expressing interest in the GM...

Those are valid points aphonos. For some inexplicable reason, I neglected to consider air-flow (rather silly of me, considering that maintaining proper case air-flow is of paramount importance in having a cool and quiet system, dual aims that are near and dear to all of us). In any case, please cons...

Hey Dru, that's a pretty sweet mod: effective HDD noise isolation and cooling in one fell swoop. I was thinking about doing something similar in a future case. Specifically, I am planning on using two of the no-vibes untis arranged one on top of the other with an undervolted (or rheobus controlled) ...

I agree with MikeC that the Enermax Whisper PSUs are quite loud. I was unfortunate enough to purchase one of these beasts, which I am presently replacing (perhaps I'll sell the enermax on eBay?). As regards the Vantec Stealth fans, although they are quiter than some other case fans, they are certain...
