noting the increase in noise from the new Adda fan, would the Nexus 120mm provide equal/sufficient airflow if it was used to replace the Adda fan? or is it not worth it From my experience I would say yes; my S12-430 (Yate Loon fan) spins at 720rpm (I'm yet to see it speed up any further). The Nexus...

I have a S12-430 which ticks. With the case shut, the ticking is only just audible in the early hours of the morning. Overall the S12 is louder than my modded ST-300 (I replaced the fan with an Antec 120mm @ 5v) - there is more wind noise. And I haven't heard the fan ramp up yet. I'm thinking about ...

It was shipped to me on the 21st of September.

About the voltage, thats what I thought too. The high pitched noise from my fan changes when I stress the comp. So I think it is increasing the voltage but still not enough to start the fan. :?

Just out of interest did you ever have the no start problem with the old fan? My fan also makes the chopping noise you refer to and has the no start problem. If it doesn't start I can leave the computer on for hours and it still will not start. This makes me wonder whether a fan is required at all f...

Much appreciated. It would appear I didn't use enough artic silver.

CPU temp is now 47deg(117f) at idle and 50deg(122f) load.

It made no difference whether I had the case open or not, unsurprisingly, for the temps in my last post.

My sole concern is that, should I use the Thermalright, I may not be able to use the Zalman northbridhe heatsink on the ABIT NF7-S motherboard . Is there anyone that has used the SLK-900U and the Zalman NB HS on a motherboard with a similar layout? The layout of your board looks identical to my cha...

I have a Leadtech MX440 that came with a noisey little screamer which I quickly unplugged. After 30mins of UT2003 it gets pretty warn but thats about it.

I don't think there is any need for active cooling on this GPU. :)

I have a 120mm antec fan(in a sonata) running @ 5v, and its very quiet. It still pulls a reasonable amount of air. At 12v its far too noisey. 120mm is definately the way to go if you want low noise and lots of airflow :) I agree with dago, IME pretty much any fan I've used is quiet at 5v, there are ...
