Yawn... By decree of The Open Group, the term "UNIX" refers more to a class of operating systems than to a specific implementation of an operating system; those operating systems which meet The Open Group's Single UNIX Specification should be able to bear the "UNIX" and UNIX98 trademarks today, aft...

nobody KNOWS if there is a god, God or whatever, can't prove or disprove, some people believe it. That's about as far as I got :) How about this one, I believe it is closely related. Are we more than the sum of our parts? If not then my brain is a state machine. If you knew every detail of my brain...

Re: CPU Chipset heatsink removal question...
Want to remedy a noisy chipset fan by replacing it with a larger heatsink... I was warned that if the heatsink is permanently applied (glued, not clipped) to your mainboard, that it is not advisable to attempt to 'pop' the heatsink off... i have done this with a heatsink that was glued onto a video...

By "can" do you mean "may" or do you actually mean "can". Being able to make something does not necessitate being able to break it.Rusty075 wrote:4. Well Somebody I don’t have a hundred and four links to show Scientists leaning towards a belief in a higher power or divine being. I didn't ask you for "a hundred and four links". I just asked to cite your source. A few links to the scientific studies that you are refering to will be fine. Relative...

What I'd like to know from Somebody is what he means by a falsifiable hypothesis. Do you mean falsifiable results? Because isn't a hypothesis simply a proposal of an explanation for something? I can get my mind around the possibility of results to an experiment being falsified, perhaps because the ...

I was expecting this type of reaction from you. That is why I asked whether or not you were talking about science. I wanted to make sure that by "valid", you meant valid in terms of science. As I have already told you, science is a methodology that involves testing hypotheses. If a hypothesis is not...

Therefore, christian heavan may well exist, as there are a great number of people who beleive it does, and a number who say it may. Very few have SINCERE and DEEP beliefs (not opinions) that it does not exist, and frankly, it cannot be destroyed by disbelief. How is this relevant? Belief does not e...

Well, there's your source now. If you would read some of the stuff on the links I've provided, you could really gain a lot, I think. As for me, debating atheists isn't my favorite thing to do, because debating doesn't change hearts, though it may throw down some intellectual barriers to assurance o...

Didn't you even read? I didn't even write that passage. I got it from another website. I also warned you that the passage was really condensed down. Let me explain it in another way. If God exists and he is good, then he would want to end suffering. If he is omnipotent, he would be able to end suffering. But there is suffering. Therefore God does not exist. most certainly not, this only means that it cannot be the case that God exists, AND he i...

It's really sad that so many people are atheists here. How can you think that there is no goal for life apart from what what we can experience? That there is no absolute good which judges our lives? How can you have no sense that there is something that we are required to be and are not? All you ha...

For example, if God is all powerful and good, then evil should not exist. But evil does exist. Therefore God does not exist. If God is good therefore we are good? What sort of argument is that? Those who say we can't fully understand God are getting close, but have missed the mark somewhat. The reality is, what myself and other Christians are trying to say is that what we know about God has been given to us through revelation Not the Book of Revelation, just revelation in general. Since o...
