After dealing with unreliable image hosts, I've gotten a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B and installed Apache on it. Hosting images at home now! Images updated.

Re: GTX 1060 Compilation Thread
Gainward GTX 1060 / Palit GTX 1060 Dual 6GB I have the above card. The older cards come with older BIOS with 0db tech on idle, the newer cards come with new BIOS idle 800rpm/25%. Have tried the older BIOS, but the temperature threshold is 50C. This is easily hit when watching Youtube 1080p (Adobe Fl...

have added notes above. When I mentioned "can't hear fan", I actually put my ear next to the case.
Have flipped the Solo II fan to Low specifically for this test.

Re: Sapphire Ati radeon R9 280/280x/285
Have done some tests with GPU-Z's built in render test. The Antec Solo II's rear fan is set to Low. At idle, I suspect the card turns off the fan. Unable to visually confirm, since casing is already closed. Casing is placed on the floor. (edit) Ambient temp 29-31C. Idle at desktop 300/150MHz 1550rpm...

Re: Sapphire Ati radeon R9 280/280x/285
That's great news(for me at least). Please let me know how loud it is by spcr standards. All i'm interested in is idle noise(or lack of it to be exact). If you can, try to eliminate all other idle noise sources except the gpu. By the way, what's your system's specs? Also, some temps would be nice. ...

Re: Sapphire Ati radeon R9 280/280x/285
Yeah the prices are dropping due to GTX 970. Considering between the Sapphire 280x or Power color 290 (dual fan) to upgrade 7750 Crosafire. May pull the trigger on 280x. Crossfire works horrible. Don't try. We'll see soon. EDIT : Got a Sapphire r9 280 dual-x (not 280x as previously stated). We'll se...

Have you gotten the sapphire card yet.
I have an r9 280x dual x on sale here at a store. Not clear about noise levels.

Re: Asus GTX970 STRIX
IIRC Tom's review measured power draw. The 145w TDP of the 970 is more like a typical/average workload, rather than max load. They measured the card drawing over 200w. The low advertised TDP is more of smart and aggressive power tuning rather than actual low power draw. The 970 looks good though. Mi...

Thanks. The grease issue affects the MSI AMD Twin Frozr IV cards too. There was another forum mentioning the issue and MSI has identified the batch(es?) affected. Pre-Jan14. For unknown reasons, kwikpiks.com removed my account for picture hosting.
Updates:
(a) Removed 1x NEC USB 3.0 card.
(b) Added 1x Crucial M500 mSata 240GB
(c) Disabled Intel HD2000, and added 2x HIS 7750 passive.
Pictures to follow once I find a hosting service.

Update:
I got a 2nd HIS 7750 passive. Hmmm GPU-Z 0.77 says it has a different BIOS and RAM.
Made a registry change to stop Windows/atikmpag.sys from generating BSODs repeatedly on Crossfire. Guess I wont be getting a new R9 video card.

Hi all, thanks. I'm likely to get a 2nd 7750 for some Crossfire love. Just found stock for it. The most demanding games I have are Bioshock Infinite and Hitman Absolution. Should earn me some notches up the quality settings. edit: idle fan speed for MSI 270 (non X) is 975rpm. http://www.legitreviews...

Re: MSI 270x HAWK - a silent gpu for gamers
The Solo II is on the floor. When I said "idle", I actually mean watching blu-ray and movie files as well. Noticed that the HD7750 did increase the clock speed during videos, although there was no fan to ramp up. Not sure whether the 270x behaves the same way. quest_for_silence: You have the 270x Ga...

Is it normal that the right side of the front panel is slightly warped? It looks like the two buttons are pushing the face panel outwards.
