Using self adhesive floor tile in case?
I heard locally about a young lad who put some leftover floor tile that is the self adhesive kind all over inside the case of his PIII and claimed it made a huge difference! Apparently he claimed the floor tile has the composite qualities of tar paper and minerals and asphalt that helps absorb sound...

Rounded cable question?
I was planning to get all my cables together for a rounded cable order, but then as I looked into my pc I thought why? I never use my 3/1/2 floppy anymore since I use a usb 64 portable storage disk and I never use my cd rom/burner unless I plan to burn a cd which is once every lunar eclipse, so coul...

Premier 300w PSU is it a piece of crap?
Hi I finally got my pc torn down again to see exactly what psu I have and I don't right now have the $ to buy a new Antec. I have a premier 300w p4 ready, what it says on the side and was wondering if they are total crap or if I can modify the one output fan to a panflo and maybe run it at 5 or 7v o...

Stupid idea number one: What if say a person, me, just disconnected teh psu fan and mounted a panflo on the outside of the psu and cutout the grill - would this facilitate enough airflow to satisfy the psu without having to tear into the psu which is what I am DREADING TO DO and I do not right now h...

If I replace the cpu fan with a low noise I will try n get a 3 wire so the on board mboard readings and auto shut down still work ok - a...

After silencing what is safe?
Sorry again for stupid questions here. :( I did get into my bios temperatures and voila! I can’t believe I never viewed these stats before! My cpu temp is 37 c or 98 f and my internal temp. is 25c or 75 f. whereas actual room temperature is 68 f. OK if I do get my rig adjusted per fans, suspended ha...

Switchable Panflo's vs automatic thermal fans?
Since I think in my dense fog of a brain that the majority of what I notice in my pc is fan noise, I am pursuing to replace may bottom and psu fans with 80mm panflo’s but building a switch to go from 5v to 12v seems like a waste, if I can just buy the automatic on demand fans instead of having to ma...

:? If I can do this in the bios setup I am fairly comfee doing that but as far as adjusting any parts of the mboard as mentioned in the DIY sutt posted here, whoa, I would prolly screw it max. Recently I knew squat about cooling and fried a 1.4 evergreen cpu, well the cpu ran real hot anyways and li...

Thanks again will check out that idea on a zalman cooler - and try the panflo's as 12v first to see if they reduce noise and then install the 12v to 5v switch. Adjust cables and maybe line the case with audio silencer mat I have. I can tolerate some noise my better half adsolutely detests my Athlon ...

Will i kill my gaming pc in order to silence it?
:? Plan on trying to run bigger slower fans, 5v panflo’s, in it to reduce noise and maybe insulate the case, suspend the hard drive and maybe replace the cpu fan with a bigger slower fan? I also will be placing this pc in a closet area that does not get that much venalation, except the door will be ...
