The 9600pro is bunches slower than the 9500pro b/c it's pipelines have been clipped in half. I believe at normal settings a ti-4200 will come out slightly ahead of the 9600pro but when you crank up the AA/AF, the 9600pro kills the ti-4200.

A standard PSU put into a Dell mobo will cause a fire, and both components will become instant toast. Dell warranty has it covered!!! I've taken case fans from dell work stations at school, the connectors look proprietory but they work on my home machine. No tach wire though. I've seen a coup...

Are you speaking from experience? Can anyone else confirm or disconfirm this? It would be really bad if I put a couple SLK-800s on my CPUs and they fell off and broke my Ti 4600 card in two. yaya i'm running an Ax-7. upgraded from a vantec cck6035-d which could be moved slightly side to side with i...

Stunt, removing the fan from the power supply is possible but very risky. It might not matter if the psu dies but it can also take out the mobo/cpu/memory...... Also, since the power supply is your only exhaust, definitely keep the fan in. To get more quiet, you can enclose the harddrive and undervo...

definitely stick with the aluminum. that copper heatsink has it's fins way too tightly packed to dissipate heat quickly. also think of dust/gunk build up between the thin fins over time

If a fanless GeForce FX 5200 can be had for under $70, then it sounds like a good card for a quiet system that doesn't need to be too fast and won't be used to run games at 1600x1200 and whatnot, even if a Ti4200 does beat it in performance tests. yaya you're right, it all depends on what you use i...

Not 100% true, Keel. Two stacked fans spinning in the same direction CAN increase airflow. A quick look at the CFM / pressure curve will confirm this for you. The second fan can reduce the pressure on the first fan thus increasing its volume. It is, however, diminishing returns. What he is probably...

The Zalman northbridge would do a good job but you'll lose a pci slot or two and a few bucks. I am surprised that your mx440 came with active cooling though. Most manufacturers just slapped a passive heatsink on. Hmmm...the only thing I would do is disconnect the gpu fan. Cheap and effective.
