Back in early March, MikeC said that at some point he'd be testing the lower power Enermax models to see how the noise/power curve changes, and also to confirm that the performance of the reviewed 625w version was not a fluke. Hi, Thanks for the reply. I've actually managed to suss it out now, and I've found a better way to remove the base off the Zalman fan that does not involve hacking the centre out. I peeled off the sticker that covers the spindle in the centre of the Zalman fan base. I then used a small flat head scr...

Re: Vf900...

... after you dismounted the stock fan, cut it's base , without breaking it into pieces... What does "cut its base" mean? Cut how? cut where? I've got the nexus out of the frame and I've got the Zalman fan out of the heatsink, but I can't figure out how to get the base off of the Zalman fan without...

Thanks for the product name and link pandb 8) and thanks for the photo cmthomson. The difference in height when using the rails is clearly visible. Seeing as the kit is cheap and easily available from Quiet PC (I don't know how I've never seen it before, as I practically live on that site) I'll go a...

Thank you both for the update. :) Unfortunately I can not afford to wait till next year, as I want to have my new system built before Christmas. What exactly is the old mount kit called? (I'm new to this, and I want to make sure that I don't want to end up getting the wrong thing). Also, does anyone...

What was the response to this question? Did you hear back from them?

Hard Drive control

I'm about to build my first PC (my current one is ancient) and I'd like to have a spare hard drive in my new system that would be used as a rescue disk. As this disk would be used infrequently, I would not want it spinning all the time and making noise and generating heat. I don't want to use any ex...

I'm new to this, and I'm wondering how you go about reducing the voltage?

Also, will voltage reduction affect system stability?
