how to suspend a 3.5" drive in an antec overture case?
Hey, I'm trying to find a way to suspend the HD in my antec sonata case. I have this suspend thing with elastics that will fit into a 5.25" bay. I've tried using that, and putting the hd under the dvd player. This works, but there is so little airflow down there, that the HD gets to 52 celcius witho...

I have a brand new p180 which does not have the vga duct. I've already taped up the holes in the bottom of the back of the case around the psu (per the p180 review done here), in order to make sure the fresh air for the psu comes from the front, along my hard drives. It looks like I'll be taping up ...

are p180 dust filters doing anything with all the backvents?
Hey, I've built a p180 + 6600 conroe, + ninja heatsink (passive) + a 7600gs passive videocard. I use the fan that came with the ninja as an exhaust fan (back not top, as I'm afraid somebody (probably me) will put a stack of books or something on the top). Now, I see that in the back of the p180 case...

seasonic s12 PSU in a p180 case, how can that work?
Hey, I see people on the forums having a p180 case, with a s12 seasonic psu. Those psu's have a 12cm fan that blows "vertically"... I would figure that in a p180 case, you'd want a psu that blows air out the back. Am I missing something? I'm trying to figure out what would be a good PSU to put in my...

I do not know. Assuming you're using the case for a media based computer, I doubt you'd need an XP90 cooler though. I have the same case. It defenity is a hard case to temp-manage, but the problem (at least for me) is not getting the heat from the cpu into the case, its getting the heat out of the c...

Hey, I still have my Seasonic Silencer 300watt PSU that Mike has been so kind to put together for me. I'm looking to get a new video card, and it looks like it will be one from the 6800 series. I know 300watt is defenitely not on the high side, and that actual draw from specific rails matter a lot, ...

Hey, I've been running my samsung 1614n for about a year. All of a sudden I got more and more corrupted files. A chkdsk /f had to fix countless problems, and if I'd do it the next day again, there were more problems to fix again. I want to rma this drive, but would like to make sure it is absolutely...

What to watch out for when modding a psu?
Ok, so everybody always says its very dangerous to open a PSU. I have always figured this is because of "stored power". Whenever I open my pc, I make sure to turn off the power, and then press the turnon button, so that the psu loses its last bit of power in it. Is this the only reason opening a psu...

Hey. I've built a htpc system, in an antec overtura case, and the whole thing runs damn hot, much hotter than I like. Next to my normal components, my TV in/out card gets _crazy_hot. Heya Hal, Looks like I've got to brush up on my perl skills. Anyway, I'll take a crack at seeing if I ...

I'd try to get a mainboard that supports setting the fan speed trough software. That way you can use a tool like speedfan (Don't know of any linux variant, they'll probably be there. I'm assuming linux here since you're running a server), to contorl the fanspeed for you based on the load of the syst...
