BTW, does air bubble makes a lot of noise? If so, how? :? When they get sucked into the pump, they get hit by the impeller as it spins around. Sounds a bit like gravel going through the pump. If it's constant loud noise like a fridge it's probably the water pump. Try isolating it from the case some...

Edit: krapp, that´s what pdf27 suggested. I thought he meant putting a dual 80mm rad on the bottom. I missed the word `front´ and thought the PA160 was a dual 80mm rad, apparently it´s a 120mm. Stupid name.. Nope, the PA160 is a 160x210mm radiator sized to take 1x120mm fan. IMHO it's the b...

Shoot I was wondering about that. Im obsessed with the Silverstone TJ08, hmm maybe i can cut holes in the floor and mount a one large radiator blowing out... You might be able to shoehorn a PA-160 into the front under the hard disk bays, particularly if you're willing to cut the cage up (if you're ...

Re: Two Radiators?
I'm looking into making a compact water cooling set-up, its going to be completely internal. How much trouble would it cause to have two radiators in series, probably on opposite sides of the case. I'm afraid one radiator wouldn't quite cut it, especially because I want to try some mild overclockin...

I have (finally!) got a pair of the A2123 fans up and running in my new PC, so I'll do a write up of the whole build and stick it up somewhere just as soon as I can get my paws on a digital camera (couple of weeks probably). Biggest problem was mounting the one on the radiator (it's really rather h...

The aluminum box we see inside the case is both the reservoir and the pump or is the case a large reservoir that the user will fill up with water? It looks to me like the plastic box in the middle is a reservoir that contains two submerged pumps. The case itself is purely a radiator. Hang on, just ...

My thoughts exactly. I also find it hard to believe that given equal single fan doubling the radiator area would _worsen_ the cooling. If nothing else, the actual airflow would increase, since backpressure would decrease almost by half. Ummm... depends what radiator you're using. No two radiator de...

Did you have any problems with the Lian li bay covers? Do they fit propely on the TJ06 case? The CD-rom covers fit nicely with the case, but to get the drives to fit you have to attack the drive rails with a hacksaw or a pair of pliers. It isn't too difficult, took me 20 minutes or so to do both dr...

It might be worth trying out AC fans too (see the " The Top SPCR Quiet 120mm Axial Fans Compared + 120mmAC Fans. " sticky). I've got a pair of the Sunon 120x38mm fans mentioned, and they are absolutely superb - they're pushing quite a bit of air (one is in my PA.160, the other as an internal case fa...

The main benefit I can think of to having the res at the top of the case is that the average static pressure in the water system will be higher. If you've got a pump with a constricted inlet at the bottom of the case, this might just be enough to prevent cavitation (and vice-versa if the res is at t...

Unless you're ducting the air from the CPU out of the case, the case can be treated like a box with a heater in it and a fan to recirculate air around but not out. No, that's not true. The case fan exhausts air, so you can't treat it like a heater in a box without exhausts. Sorry, need clarity here...

Reading what I just wrote, it even sounds confusing to me, so let me nicely state the main points. - The more air that moves through a heatsink, the cooler it becomes. - That heat goes into a certain volume of air - More than that volume of air must be exhausted, or the average air temperature will...

Just on the side, on the one hand I have read loads of guides saying its important that the radiator draws cool air in from the outside. At the same time everyone says you shouldn’t dump heat from the radiator into the system. Well, surely you can not avoid both? Ideally the air would come straight...

I have always hard mounted the radiator. Not sure what is to be gained by getting more elaborate as the radiator produces no appreciable noise. The radiator doesn't produce any noise, but it's hard to get a good decoupled fan mount so decoupling the radiator may be helpful. In my case (PA160 mounte...

As far as acoustics goes, the TJ06 has hard plastic feet, the wind tunnel has a small amount of play that is prone to serious vibrations, and the same can be said for the 5.25" drive bay blanks. It would be close to impossible to make a quiet system with it. The drive rail mounting for the hard dri...

On the picture, B is neutral (that doesn't mean ground), A is 120VAC compared to B, C is 120VAC compared to B (but in the opposing phase). Therefore, A to C is 240VAC. Hang on a sec, aren't most power systems three phase rather than two phase? If so then connecting across any two 120VAC wires will ...

OK, so it's a Phantom 500, but the cable lengths should be the same.

See "CRS Heat Pipes"/"Technical Notes" for more detail. It presumably applies only to their products, but should give some reasonable numbers for most similar heatpipes.
