My Samsug is also being RMA's (it's on it's way back now and I should have it tomorrow)....also completely my fault. I knocked the und...

There is no "standard" in the U.S. for receiving digital (cable or Satellite) for HDTV. Smaller companies can focus on individual systems (like Like Dish or DirectTV), while larger companies won't find it worthwhile. ATI isn't going to make a digital tuner for dozens of different cable systems (who ...

But one question i have. Are the fan screws touching the metal bracket or are they fully decoupled (bigger hole than original, ..?) :?: Good point....I did not drill out the holes any bigger...but the screws aren't "threaded" through the bracket in the first place. (They just slip through the holes...

Lol...the Mythbuster Episode concerning the "Fat Ass being Stuck to an AirLine Toilet Seat via Flush Suction" was quite good.Ralf Hutter wrote:While I'm at it, I'll plug Mythbusters as well. This is, far and away, the best show on TV.

So does that mean that you'd be able to capture HDTV directly to your HDD? Aren't the broadcasters scared shitless about this scenario? Yes, that's exactly what it means....although it appears this is for "over the air" HDTV only at this time...not Digital Cable or Satellite. I don't think there's ...

I almost forgot about this thread.... Now that I have my new PC assembled, I'm able to use my "old" PC to play with the Voodoo. It works great in Win98 with a Dell Precision 410 motherboard, though it won't install under XP. This was an absolute (ok, maybe relative) "steal" for the $650 I paid for i...

joe, do you think screwing through sorbothane with really long screws would work? Maybe with grommets on the other end as well. I'm not sure exactly how your are proposing this...do you mean directly mounted to the hard drive cage, but using a hand-made "sorbothane" grommet, instead of the EAR grom...

What I recently did was to take a couple of drive rails for fitting a 3.5" drive into a 5.25" drive bad and screwed them into the bottom of my case near the front intake....Plus unlike just setting in on a piece of foam, it's fairly secure and doesn't move easily. I'll be trying something similar, ...

You should look at Ralf Hutter's experience with the Samsung 160 GB model in essentially the same case. (It's in an Antec 3700 BQE that he has applied acoustipac foam too.) The vibration of his Samsung is a bit too much for his taste in that case when mounted "conventionally". Dead silent when he de...

Re: Transporting PC w/ shock cord drive suspension
The "stability" of the shock cord suspension seems to get questioned quite a bit. What do you guys do with your PCs? Shotput? Hammer throw actually. What do you think I'm doing with the left-over shock cord? ;) Seriously, yes, because I have it hanging down particularly low (I did it that w...

Thanks a lot Joe! Those bungee cord suspension temps look really good. 30°C is simply amazing. Too bad that one can't use bungee cords in some cases (like 3700BQE). The downside of the bungee is of course, "stability" (in terms of mounting). I'm looking into a new way to mount the drive in the same...

The samsungs are simply too new to really have any meaningful drive reliablity numbers. I've give you personal thoughts on mine, but it's being RMA'd at the moment. ;) (This particular RMA was completely my fault thogh...) I've tried to find some of those "Sorbothane studs" that are shown on the Sorbothane website but I haven't found any that have the correct size threads on the top for mounting them to the drive.
