That last link I cant access unfortunately, needs password or so ? But indeed a big-ass radiator on the side of the case is also what I have currently, that does the job well. Going fanless AND having all inside the case I dont think is very possible since you still need to dissipate the heat someho...

Thanks   I have this case for over a year now and everyday again i am very happy with the silence :) Altho I am still not finished with this case (who is ever). I will add some more actual red lighting to the case, as my UV water is orange or pink, hardly red... Laser leds can do this job,...

I use the HD O matic from Innovatek to cool my hard drives. They work well, fit in a 5.25" slot, and are suspended in rubber sockets even to dampen some noise.
Currently I have them in black, but now they are available in red as well and I will switch them out for that very soon

Who has a fanless watercooled computer ?
I was curious to know who else has a fanless watercooled computer here. I do, and I am very happy with the dead silence ! Altho honestly for now my PSU still has two temperature controlled papst fans, but in my encased case I have a hard time hearing them. And I have 4 regular fans in my case, but b...

Sorry to kick up such an old topic, but reading this topic title I couldnt resist proving that a silent powerful AND good looking computer certainly is possible, in fact you are looking at one right now : http://www.xs4all.nl/~gercomar/PCcase/done/OD18.jpg http://www.xs4all.nl/~gercomar/Tnet/IMG_983...

This is my radiator: http://www.xs4all.nl/~gercomar/pics/PCcase/IMG6618.jpg in de case gallery forum I posted more information about my case and you can also see some of my radiator. Water temp is about 35 C, which is 12 over room temp. CPU temp it says 37 but that is ASUS probe, and I think its a b...

I think I have tested my Qtec already and there was no live voltage on the heatsink. But I will definitely check again before I mount it in my case. No as Bladerunner described I am not that afraid of the shim getting pierced, once its mounted in place and protected by the mosfets I think it should ...

What you can try is to go to bios straight after you bootup and your system is cold. If then your temps are not at room temp (as they should be) then you know that they have a higher or lower reading and you can add or subtract the difference that you see. Also you can watch the temps for a bit afte...

Silent watercooling radiator
First I would like to say that I am missing a forum index on watercooling. I think it would deserve its own index on the main page as with watercooling it is easier to build a totally silent system then with the usual fan aircooling. Altho not everybody might agree with me  Also I see less ...

I have had an (old model) Vapochill and if you want to go for quietness, do NOT get one of these. you should do watercooling then, if I may say so. It is more modular to build and more userfriendly to maintain. Also the pump in a watercooling system is WAY not as noisy as a "compressor" in a vapo / ...

Currently I have an Enermax 365 Papst (temp controlled) I am amazed not more people use it, I hardly see it posted here. It came with the papst by default, and the fans run on 4 V max pretty much or so. I can really see the fans rotate, the rpm is that low. Obviously it is also very quiet. it did co...

not to be rude or so but it doesnt take much to have a fanless setup if you mean only CPU and motherboard, I use watercooling, so I dont have a fan on my CPU either  But yes, I understand your point now. Silvervarg, DDR doesnt need extra cooling I think, but in a case with 0 airflow it does ge...

Yes that is one of the sites I have seen quite a while back to get ideas for my mod. Very interesting. Altho I must say that it looks like they simply modded it by putting a waterblock on the back, where a heatsink could be. From what I can tell from the picture... I would assume a factory build watercooled PSU would have all parts on the inside and that doesnt seem to be the case h...

PSU modding to watercooling problems
I have a Qtec 550 already that I was thinking about modding to watercooling. Now the big heatsinks I can simply mount a waterblock on and that will keep them cool, as I have tested already. But there are also various coils and other big components that are also getting really hot when there is no ai...

I am thinking about getting this 420 watt fanless PSU and then modding it to watercooling by simply mounting waterblocks on the heatsink. One would think, what is that good for, well I will mount it sideways in my 0 airflow case and I think it will get too hot then. Also I do not want it to dissipat...

If I may say so... I think the solution is very simple, if there is a fan in the system, the PC isnt fanless. Because if you have a fan ANY where in the case, there is usually airflow though the entire case which can cool other components as well. Like in this case where the PSU 12 cm fan is right o...

Yes, that is a good solution normally to make a case more quiet :) However..... I think you will agree that in my case as seen in http://forums.silentpcreview.com/viewtopic.php?t=8680 putting dampening material in my case is not really a solution  it wouldnt look great in a clear case :) But I...

I dont agree with all you say but I do agree with your last statement, aircooling indeed is much simpler, low cost and low weight. And indeed with the great processor coolers out there these days you can already reach a very silent system by simply getting a quiet processor cooler. However I have no...

Watercooling is basically quieter then aircooling because you have full control of "heatmanagement". With aircooling you have to lose the heat on the place where its created, where sometimes isnt much room or ease of installation. Also with aircooling every device creating heat needs to have a fan m...
