ok! thanks for the info. but if i add a 120mm fan, run it at 5v and it cant be heard from say 1meter under the desk maybe that's the best solution since i will know that nothinbg possibly will happen to the components as for overheating? the only negative thing with adding a 120mm fan is if i can he...

Ok from what I understand I've got three options: a) I stick with the heatsink that comes as a standard with the a bit nf7-m motherboard. b) i replace the original heatsink with the zalman nb 47j and hope that's enough. c) i replace the original heatsink with the zalman nb 47j AND i add a papst 80mm...

this is very confusing. i asked around months ago and people said "you will be fine with the nb 47j" and now nobody seems to be sure all of a sudden. everybody suggests different things. im having a company building this for me. theyre ready to go. there's just so much work i can expect them to do. ...

ok i talked to the people building the computer and they say that the motherboard with it's inbuilt graphics chip is BIGGER than the zalman nb 47j thats why they think that it might not get enough cooling. so if anyone think replacing the original heatsink with the zalman is a bad idea speak up =) o...

well so far most people says that i will be fine with the zalman nb-47j instead of the standard one on the motherboard. so i take it there's not that big a risk it will overheat then?

as for the pc itself i will use a athlon 2500+ cpu. and no extra videocard, just the inbuilt one.

Motherboard heatsink problems! urgent!!

I'm having a company putting together my pc with the parts I've choosed: the motherboard used is Abit ATX NF7-M Nforce2 which has inbuilt graphics. because it has a fan of the northbridge i bought a separate Zalman ZM-47J North bridge heatsink which is suppose to be more quiet. now they say the beli...

thanks for the review. i was thinking of buying the nd 1300 (nec 4x) which is about $133 here, some would say "go for the 8x!" but the 8x is like $200 and if a dvd takes 8-9 minutes to burn or 14-15 doesnt really matter, but then again the 8x DOES burn cd's faster, which i guess i will still be doin...

Since it's brand new I would try to get it replaced with another or money back. I don't know about companies policies about stuff like that (i.e. will they let you return it or not) Maybe by telling them of the importance of having a quiet computer with the kind of work you do, they will get it (let...

ok. but im confused why the slim version suppose to be 10-24db, and copper silent 2tc rev2 is 12-24db
but maybe there's no real life difference.
"funny" how NONE of them seems to be the exact one that was in the review here on spcr.
but copper silent 2tcrev2 will probably be just fine.

dunno but isnt system disc where you really want the fastest hd possible, most people say that 5400 is allright - for storage. check out storagereview.com, v80 performs worse than p80 in pretty much every test. for example: SR Bootup DriveMark 2002 The average I/O rate achieved when replaying an act...
