Sounds a lot but then they do add up very quickly! I have 4 running: PSU CPU/Extract combined Gfx Barracuda And should really be 5: My second HDD (IBM Deskstar) isn't fan cooled but it is mainly idle so stays at 34c... If I was really tight I guess I could remove the Barracuda one and let it go from...

Well finally following snowmoon's request I am able to post pictures of my duct! Incidentally I ended up buying a Canon Ixus 400 camera which is pretty awesome albeit rather costly! Mike - could you send me an expenses form so I can reclaim the cost from SPCR? OK, so this is my first attempt ...

When I meant rating, I meant how much airflow do you need... I'm assuming you're not too technical and simply want silence. Well, ideally you would probably want to change the heatsink for a new one as per Mark's adivce but if that's too technical, then keep things easy and go for ez2remember's advi...

You can get Panaflo Ls from ebay for £8. Or you can try the overclocking store (google search), their postage is free so its quite handy for smaller orders (they are a bit more expensive so for a bigger order you may wish to consider another retailer)... I always use Google to find & compare retaile...

SpyderCat - I have the A7V333 Mobo too! CPU Connector: Controlled by Mobo, as you say Speedfan can read but not control. I haven't tried turning Q-Fan off - maybe that might allow Speedfan to control it. Case Connectors 1+2: Allows good control of the fans. Works well for me. I also have that never ...

My Ducting - excellent results
I know there's been a few posts about this but I thought I'd run my own with my own findings. I've been unhappy for several months about how unefficient my CPU fan and case extract fan setup were. I have an Asus A7V333 Mobo, XP2000 with Zalman flower heatsink, bracket & 92mm fan; I use a Ultrasilent...

jhh - It's not anything to do you with your machine, it just happens on some DivX files. I have two Noiseblocker fans ordered directly from them: www.noiseblocker.de . They ship to the UK (c£10) but the problem is they don't take credit cards. You have to arrange a 'economy bank transfer' from your bank (much cheaper if you go in person - £6-7 instead of £13). Not easy but not complicat...

Thanks for the replies, what really confuses me is that my Zalman fanmate + other potentiometer based speed control methods have the same problem. The Papst fan can be only adjusted between say 75-100% speed whilst the Noiseblocker is more like 25-100%. I'm sure it must be something to do with fan d...

Fan power ratings and 'driveability'
I was wondering if someone might be able to explain something which is bothering me!? I have a fairly quiet (but no enough!) system and use Speedfan to control my case and PSU fan. I should probably add that to get it to fit, the 311 is stuck on a few degrees diagonally rather than parallel/perpendicular to the gfx chip/card. May not look 'professional' but my PC internals are not on display and it works! I got the idea from a guy on an overclocking site who loved the 311 and ...

Well I have to admit it is a tight fit! From my measurements, I thought I would have to file a few mms off one of the corners of the 311. However after I took the factory heatsink off and played around trying to fit the 311, it was JUST ok. By this I mean I have probably a 2/3 mms clearance, not muc...
