According to the knights forum (that's where I found the link, curiosity got the better of me and I had to check them out  ) the old DNS was grabbed by a porn site :( and they had to relocate.

FWIW, I had the same problem with a few boxes yesterday -- problem was auto-magically taken care of and I'm not having problems any more.

When they're about to overtake a team, they invade their forum to "taunt" them. I think they can be absolulately hilarious. They're basically trying to piss you off in a humorous way to challenge you into a race. And we're still racing with them. I'm looking forward to fart (read the thread) at the...

Obviously, I haven't been around long enough to know the history behind the knights. At least, I hope there's a history given the evident animosity that both SPCR and Team Mac have towards them. I just can't get all that excited when (at current rates), it's going to take between mid-2005 (d...

Dumb panaflo question

I just got a couple of L1A's (FBA08A12L) and they have three pin tails (red, black & yellow).

I haven't tried them yet (won't get a chance until tomorrow sometime), but I thought L1A's only came with 2 pins and didn't do rpm sensing.

What is a tinker/gromac? How would you identify if you had one? Different proteins use different "core" executables to do the work -- Tinker (older and slower) and gromac (faster for most). If you look at your log file, it will tell you what you're working on: [04:48:04] PROJECT="work/wudata_03", N...

Ralf,

Thanks for your help -- I found the bad stick and have ordered a new one. In the meantime, I reduced the RDRAM speed from 1066 to 800 and that seems to have stabilized things...

...XP, by default, automatically reboots if the OS crashes... Already turned that off -- I don't get BSOD when crashing. ...Event Viewer... Have looked into that as well and I do have a flaky background app, but it was missing a service -- I've switched the service to auto and it no longer errors ....

Flaky PSU or something else going on?

I've recently started my trip down the road to silence (thanks for everyone's help so far) :) But it appears that I'm rapidly arriving at a pretty unstable system -- I'll be working on something (maybe quicken or word, something low load) while listening to my XM or MP3's when all of a sudden, it's ...

I"m pretty sure the Seagate doesn't have adjustable AAM and the Samsung does, although it's reported here by someone with an 0812C to have AAM enabled at Fast - but you can change it to Quiet with the Hitachi Tool. Does anyone here been able to accomplish this? I've DL'd the hitachi tool and it say...

Dumb question -- do you need to clean...

Do you need to clean the adhesive off of the video chip after popping off the stock HSF? I'm new to this whole thing -- I just pulled off the stock HSF off an AIW 8500 and I'm not sure if I need if I need to clean off the chip before putting a zalman HS on... If I do need to clean it, what do I use?...
