I've got mine mounted in an Antec SX835 case. It only has one HD cage so I cut out the front below the HD cage and mounted the heater core there with zip ties I had similar temps with a XP2100 Palimino. It looks likes any other beige box with the door on (no window).

It would be easier to build a case with a grid of copper tubing soldered (JB Welded?) to the outside of the case
I've seen that done, looks cool, doesn't cool well. If I can find it again I'll post a link just for S & G's.

It should not include fan mounting, airflow, sound dampening etc. Case, airflow and noise issues are different between liquid-cooled and air-cooled systems. I have both types, each has distinct modding challenges. A central section to focus on liquid cooled rigs would help those new to the dark art...

Yes, it is the case. The water block is a Swiftec MCW462-UH and is very free flowing and the Chevette heater core is the lowest restriction radiator I know of, 5/8 inlet, 1/2" outlet. The Hydor L30 II pump is rates around 320 gph. There is nothing else in the loop except a "T" fitting to add coolant...

Well it looks like I'm the Lone Ranger in the Other, stock (please name) with my Thermaltake Silent Purepower 480W  Not the quietest but quieter than either of the Antec 350w units I have around. Game playing or cpu intensive tasks invoke the wrath of the temp controlled exhaust fan and it ge...

The Zalman TNN 500A Silent Case is coming to the U.S. in limited supply very soon. This "pre-release" version is being made available here due in part to the efforts of you, the Sharka Corp audience. We have received enough interest from our users to be able to receive a small quantity of cases and...

SPCR forums sure are busy! Thank for the advice trodas. I actually had too much flow with 1/2" hose, the water didn't spend enough time in the rad to properly cool. I'm probably just going to wrap the pump in foam and let it go at that. I orginally put that water system together as a quick solution ...

I went the Chevette heater core route last year with a Hydor L30 II pump and a Swiftec universal water block (screw in barbs) and no reserve tank, just a 1/2" fill tube. As lean as you can get but a real bear to fill and bleed. The Hydor pump gets louder with time, vibrates a lot, very annoying. It'...

What I ment was avoid TIM pads all together, paste is fun. As for the annual thing, that's my personal preferance allthough I usually end up doing it several times a year for one reason or another

BTW I did briefly visit your site Ed. 8)

I have just received my Zalman 7000A-Cu kit and reading this thread I thought I'd ask if anyone can share his experience with the Zalman thermal paste included in the kit. I intend to use it if possible. When I put a Zalman 7000a-Cu on my XP2700 (no shim, I never use a shim) I used the Zalman provi...

One giant heatsink and fan to cool them all, one giant heatsink and fan to rule them all.............I don't think that one will come with a heatpipe cooler. That looks like a shim around the core.....Hmmmm........
