cablegami: just as bad as rounded cables?
I've read somewhere that 'crimping' your cables will cause data errors. From what I've seen practiced in cablegami, I'm assuming cablegami refers to actually making folds in your cable. If I'm wrong and it's actually more of a curve then a fold, then ignore me. Although I'm curious, how do you get i...

software adjustable vcore (excluding 8rdavcore)
Are there any motherboards that support vcore changing inside an operating system, excluding the usage of 8rdavcore?

yes I have :) The list is fairly outdated though, I compared it to the list on 8rdavcore's site, and it only has like 2 boards even listed on there. I think most people don't bother to send in reports. Thanks for your input on the NF7-S, but that board can't support the cnps7000a without modding the...

Speedfan Motherboards (variable fan speed)
I'm looking for motherboards that support variable fan speed control. If your motherboard supports it, or you know a motherboard that does, please let me know.
Supported Motherboards
Abit NF7-S: all fan headers
Asus A7N8X: one fan header

The ASUS A7V333 seems to be able to undervolt to 1.1.. anyone have any experience with that board? All ASUS boards SUPPORT voltage to 1.1, however you will not be able to adjust down. If your cpu auto detects to 1.5v you will have access to 1.5v and up, but won't be able to access 1.45v and down. E...

Ah! that's why. :) Yeah, that would be a lot more likely to happen! :P Not sure how much measuring you can do with an object in the bag though, but interesting concept. Never tried it... with the right mind (I'm far too stupid) someone may be able to come up with a better method relative to having a...

One way to compare fan air pressure output, accurately
I'm sure most of us have noticed at one point or another that not all manufacturers measure their specs the same way. And most enthusiasts here use fans at voltages they were not intended to be used (below 12v). Here is a method I suggest for measuring a fan's air pressure, which will reflect the CF...

Not with the placement of the socket on the KV7, but this issue is what turned me off of all the NF2 boards as there is no way the CNPS7000A would not interfere with the PSU. Yeah, I noticed that too, that really sucks. :/ Wonder if the same problem will occur with the newer CNPS that's coming out....

Thanks for your input! I want to run a panaflo 120mm oem fan there unfortunately so I guess that's out of the question. Did your HSF have any interference with the PSU? DDR: 266, 333, 400.. big difference?
I've noticed there are various different speeds in ddr memory. But how much of a performance difference would I notice between them? Do I really need 400mhz memory, or would I only notice a minimal increase like with dual channel memory?
Thanks
Thanks

What PSUs 'mod' well? Or better yet: What are indications?
I want to mod a PSU with a panaflo or alike quieter fan. There are posts about concerns that a PSU will overheat and die, killing all the components. Not exactly something I want happen :D  What PSUs won't overheat if I put a panaflo in them? I'm guessing most, if not all PSU fans are more pow...

Actually I heard that's not such a good idea. The SilenX fans supposedly don't push enough air force and don't work well with the thermalright heatsinks. But maybe what I read elsewhere is wrong? :) Just a word of warning. It'd be quieter than any other heatsink, but it probably won't perform very w...

The stock fan on the Zalman 7000A-Cu isn't exactly quiet. At silent mode it runs 'fairly quiet,' at about 20dba, but it doesn't perform all that well. If you plan on overclocking, you'd most likely be better off with a better heatsink, like the SLK948U, the SP97, or even the upcoming XP120. Use a 92...

CNPS7000A Rubberband Decoupling Mod!
I've successfully decoupled a Zalman CNPS7000A HSF with the cost of nothing except a Rubberband! Alright, I know it's funny, but it actually works. As well as a 1-3 hour decoupling job and $10-$20 worth of materials, probably not. If you want that, go check out some of the other nifty mods. Th...

You did use a fresh sandwich bag, right? hmm :) Sorry, just noticed I've misread your post. I thought you gained 5c. Thermal Paste can be an insulation, using too much is actually bad. Direct contact is actually better than thermal paste, paste is simply for filling the spots where air would normall...
