Now as far as my last post “overheating dual xeon” goes, the cpu’s were overheating because I didn’t lock the levers on the sockets Well I was thinking about it again and it didn't make much sense to me as it probably didn't make much sense to you the first place. Quite impossible unless I smashed ...

thanks for your responses fellas, The noise level right now is fantastic, the difference is like day and night, no questions about it. The only buzz i hear now is the one comming from the 80mm Sunnon fan blowing onto the heatsinks w/3000 rpm speed. Although this is acceptable, i'll replace the fan w...

Now you got me totally confused, so let me ask you this: is there a way to achieve quiet Dual 2.4 Xeon System at all? Since I'm using CAD & Studio 3D Max apps. for most of the time i believe that dual system is a must. And I see big difference in performance between my current dual system and my old...

dual xeon w/passive heatsinks overheating

i've just installed passive coller master heatsinks on my dual 2.4 xeon CPU's, and after starting up the system the temp. went up to 60 degree within less than 5 minutes. What could I do wrong? Is it thermal conductivity issue between cpu and the heatsinks or fan behind it. Which by the way is typic...

Need recommendations for quiet Dual Xeon PSU

I want to replace my existing PSU (Model: Enhance ENS-0555 550W) with new, quieter one. Any recommendations? Also could someone explain to me (or drop a link) this: if PS unit has 2 fans are they both exhaust fans, or one is intake fan and the other exhaust. Any help greatly appreciated. Regards, --...

1. Mentioned before temp was load one, which as of now is about 41 deg. cels. 2. My PSU is ENHANCE model NO: ens-0555 (550 watt). I believe that fan in it is quite loud also. If it's not main issue. 3. Case fan is Sunnon 90 mm and it doesn't sound that bad 4. Case is CHENBRO SR20505 5. MB Manual sta...

Thank you for your response Jan,
My current cpus' temp is around 49 deg. cels.
If I lower the voltage and speed at the same time
the temperature is going to go up, am I right?
Also I don't see enough room for 2 (two) 92mm fans.
Would they need different heatsinks?

quiet solution for dual xeon pc (part II)

Some time ago I posted a message here regarding quiet solution for dual 2.4 xeon system. Someone suggested to replace my existing heatsinks with Swiftech MCX603-V ones and my 60mm fans with new 80mm ones. And that's what i've just did just to find out that the level of noise is still the same, and a...

Thanks a lot Geordie for your response, I took a look
on it and seems to be very good idea. Would you
recommend assembly with springs and standoffs
over typical assembly? What brand of 80MM fans
do you use in your system?

Regards

Silent solution for dual xeon pc

I'm looking for silent solution for my brand new, very loud workstation. Most of the noise comes from intel's 60MM fans mounted on cpu's. As I've red from posted here article 60MM fans are the loudest fans and replacing them with other 60MM ones wouldn't do much good. What other solution would you r...
