Slot fan coolers that blow air instead of exhaust air
I'm looking to take air in instead of exhaust it on a PCI slot cooler. ALl the versions I've seen seem to exhaust air out of the back of a case. Has anyone seen one that takes air in so that I can cool my video card with it?

I just bought this one for $55 - about half the cost you post above. It has 50 more Watts (350 Watts) and it is over 80% efficiency unlike the 300 Watt version that came with your Aria. Works fine. More power and higher efficiency means it will operate cooler too. The Aria is not the quietest box in...

YL D12SM-12 is good. Is that the sleeve version of the YL D12BM-12? ALso, I think it is clear, hence more vibration possibly? I think this sounds like a good route to go since according to this - http://www.yateloon.com/style/content/CN-02c/product_detail.asp?lang=2&customer_id=1356&name_id=31277&r...

What is the best 120x120x25mm fan with about 70 CFM?
I am looking into modding a Silverstone ST60F PSU, and I need a good fan with about 70 CFM capability. I see the Globe is close, but I can seem to find any? Where would one buy a Globe 120 mm fan? Are there any other 120 mm 70 CFM fans I should be looking at? I'm looking for a max dba of about 30. I...

Silverstone ST60F fan mods?
Has anyone tried to mod in a Panaflo FBA12G12L1A into this thing? It's a 38 mm high 120 mm fan, and the original ADDA has a 25mm height, so I am wondering if there is any height restriction on this thing? The ADDA is a terrible fan noise wise, and I figure the Panaflo will be operating with about 81...

I've been a Sys Admin/IT Director for many years. In that time, I can't count the number of times I have opened up a computer to work on it and found some or all of the hard drive screws had loosened themselves . In some cases, this caused the hard drive to be completely free of the chassis. In the...

If you loosen the screws, then eventually the vibration of the drive will completely unscrew them. This, of course, could make your hard drive fall or slide around (not good.) Are you saying that your HD makes so much vibration that it can move the screws while the HD is resting on the said screws ...

Re: Seagate disks loudest component in system by far
Hello, I thought this would be the place to ask this question. I just built a new system - 3,2 ghz P4 Northwood, Zalman cnps7000-cu, and a Radeon 9800 pro with a passive zalman cooler. I also have a Seasonic Super Tornado 400W. I was quite surprised to find that it was quite loud when I booted it. ...

Do these systems work to reduce seeking noise? My Seagate 7200.7 SATA 150 120 Gb is crunching like a beast. :? I have the same Seagates as you x2 for RAID 0. If you want a less radical approach to what is described above to reduce this seek noise, I did the very simple thing of loosening my HD scre...

Day 2 and it is still working fine. Fan RPM rises to about 1500 RPM during gameplay, but is down to nothing again in less than 60 seconds of exiting anything CPU intensive. 1500 RPM is not even that noticeable and I forget that it is even ramping up to that if I'm not paying attention. After analyzi...

Even better - is reversed airflow. Sucking air in from the rear fan and blowing it out of the front of the case is even better than positive case pressure. These seems to keep cold air flowing past the PSU and makes it near impossible to ramp up the RPM while even running Seti packets. Case temp als...

Figured I'd post more info. I ran FarCry for about an hour, and for the firest time ever, I'm watching this PSU ramp slowly down. It's about time. Now I'll probably keep it since it's tolerable. My only downfall may come in the future since to match the rest of the system , I am planning on dumping ...

Seasonic Super Tornado 400 WATT High Speed Fan Noise Solved
Well, I've searched for an answer high and low to solve this problem and couldn't find an answer to my ramp up to 1700 RPM. I've stopped that by borrowing a page from the Fanless PSU book: Create a positve case pressure. What this means is I have 3 Panaflo's all blowing into the case, forcing all ex...

I found a post that descibes my problem exactly: My Super Tornado 400 starts at about 1400RPM but quickly rises to about 1700 under load, which is subjectively noisier than my old TruePower 430 in the same machine under the same load. What is really annoying, though, is once the fan speed elevates, ...

Thanks! I did some reading however and found that Rev 1 is probably the better unit. Rev 2 seems to jump around. One thing I forgot to mention was that this thing ramps up at Idle. I'm not touching the PC. It just kicks up to 1700 RPM. Case temp (I have an external meter) is about 29 C at the point ...

Seasonic Super Tornado defective?
I have a brand new Super Tornado 400 Watt supply which I bought to cut down on the noise of my older Enermax, and shortly after turning my PC on, it ramps up to 1700 RPM. This is by no means quiet I should say. Case temp at ramp up is about 29 C with my CPU typically at about 45 C. My room temp is a...
