switch the fan on your CPU heatsink around so it sucks out, or change the fan in the case door to blow in. they're sucking in two different directions and are thus totally inefficient.

also, the exhaust fan is surplus to requirement if you have the door-fan setup correctly.

nice modding, and in a good case. i used to run a server in one too, but one of the other bezels.

real shame it only allows one side door to be removed, kinda limits its cable-hiding abilities.

Looking for the Gigabyte X700Pro w/ HP

Here's a review of the card, from that page I can only see one place that offers the card ($246). Does anyone know of any other stores that carry it? Thanks.

thats even better, thanks. i think it would've been a tight squeeze, width-wise, getting that DFI motherboard in the case ( link ). although im not sure if ill even bother with an optical drive (but maybe the drive will sit in the 5.25" bay w/ some cooling). im trying to get it as quiet as possible,...

C3 motherboard question

before I part with $60 i'd like to be 100% sure that this motherboard will work with a C3 CPU.

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDe ... 146&depa=0

any links to a cheaper deal would be nice, or maybe another C3-supporting mATX motherboard.

thanks.

Hah, yea I was thinking of Dremeling it out as I usually do. Although I think my Dremel died, got too hot cutting out a window, and some other stuff last summer. I guess I could always cut them out with something else. I've been using masking tape to cover up the edges, doesn't really look too hot. ...

i wanna plug the zalman vf700 directly into my video card because all the excess cabling annoys me.

it's not really an issue for me at the moment, i usually check and clean the case every few months. the VGA silencer looked a bit dusty, but the SLK-800 seemed pretty clean - although i have the fan sucking, not blowing. the BQE is getting replaced on monday anyway, gotta figure out what to do with ...

BQE intake mod

a little bit ghetto, but not really noticable unless you're close and it's lit up. http://files.sworded.net/images/casemod/bqe1.jpg replaced the stock mesh with some fiber screen material from the home depot. wasn't really looking to improve it, but i burned a hole in the standard mesh with a lighte...

seeing as they're (PCI risers at least) used in many commercial 1U servers im pretty sure the performance loss is minimal, if at all noticable. AGP risers should be similar i guess. i think it's a signal noise issue though. longer AGP interface = greater exposure to EMI. if you're building a hardcor...

I own one with the black bezel. pros: -lots of space for harddrives -120mm exhaust -80mm fan for quad-drive bay -black cons: -right panel does not come off -top of case does not come off -slightly restrictive with the 64bit PCI card holders in place -rattles slightly -bloody heavy nice case, but i p...
