I have a SG03 as well, somewhat similar setup, and my main noise is also the HDDs currently, but for me that's probably because I have a old 160GB 7200.11 and another 120GB 7200.9 drive. I'm planning a switch to a Momentus XT for the main OS drive and a 500GB 2.5" for the storage drive (I don't need...

Is it worth it to get Slipstream M to replace Yate Loons?
I'm running 2 Yate Loons D12SL-12 in the front of my SG03 casing. There's a filter and mesh on the front, so I guess it's considered low-med restriction. I was thinking about replacing the Yate Loons with the Slipstream M or maybe even the Kama PWM, but would it be worth the cost? My Yate Loons are ...

2 Kama PWMs connected to one mobo header?
I have a SG03 setup, and for the dual intake, I have 2 Yate Loons running @ 5V. At this voltage, it's quiet, but not really enough airflow to keep things at a nice cool temperature, albeit still acceptable. I'm contemplating replacing them with 2 Scythe Kama PWMs and running both off a single mobo P...

Ah ok, are you referring to using a hole saw? Unfortunately I do not have a hole saw and the price of a good hole saw for cutting metal is far too prohibitive for a one-off job like this. The cheaper hole saws I've seen are meant for plastic/wood and the man at the shop said it would not be able to ...

OK so to revive an old thread. I want to cut some holes in the mobo tray and the upper section of my Lian Li PC-60 for cable routing purposes. I'm thinking round holes are easier to cut with tin snips than square holes, but i want them to be small, probably about 40-50mm diameter. Is this going to b...

Both products are pretty similar in terms of performance I believe. I have the HR-05 on my P5B-E Plus NB and while it appears to work well, the mounting leaves alot to be desired (using the Intel hooks) as the heatsink feels loose and can be easily wiggled about. Perhaps using the pushpin method mig...

I'm using a P5B-E Plus and I'm concerned about this too as I bump up my speeds. Currently, I'm running a E6300 @ 333MHz FSB (2.33GHz). I have a couple of very nice 40mm MagLev Sunons that are indiscernible, but I can't yet come up with a way of pointing them at the VRMs while keeping it looking neat...

I am using AS5, but their instructions do typically say to twist the heatsink a little after installation. I wonder if the support padding around the HR-05 might be alittle too thick for the 965 chip. I'm asking because when attempting to OC, I notice that sometimes, even at a stock 266 FSB, ORTHOS ...

Actually I have a question here too regarding the HR-05 for the NB you guys have pointed out (HR-03 is the VGA cooler btw). I have a HR-05 on my Asus P5B-E Plus board. First thing I noticed after installing it is that I can twist it pretty easily, but when I took it off to check, it looked like cont...

Other than the LEDs: 1) The ZV9 fan spins much faster and is of no interest to most SPCR users. I use the older FS-V7 (based on VF700) and I run mine at 5V, still kinda audible. 2) I believe the ZV9 is nickel plated while the standard VF900 isn't. This is probably purely aesthetical, but the nickel ...

In the picture, you can see that the PCIE slot is one slot down from the top (there's a 1X PCIE slot above it, hence the empty slot cover above the video card) and I believe that should be more than enough room for the HR-05. I'm using the Ninja + HR-05 combo on my old S478 P4P800-ED and my AGP slot...

I'm in a bit of a predicament now. My system is not as quiet as I'd like it to be (you can see the specs in my sig) and I've identified the main cause of noise as my Liberty 500W. Quitting the game, then viewing the temperature is not giving you accurate load temps. The few seconds from when it was rendering 3D down to the time you got back to desktop is enough for the heatsink to dissipate most of the heat away. I suggest using Rivatuner to run a graph log in the background ...

So can I conclude that in your case, it's not much of a difference? :D In any way, do you remember what speed your fan in the Liberty used to go up to? Worth the effort/$$$ to swap Liberty 500W for NeoHE 550W?
Hey guys, I currently have a Liberty 500W in my system (see my sig) and at the moment, the PSU fan is currently the loudest fan in it. I'm not keen on swapping the fan because I want to keep the warranty intact. Just this week, I noticed that the NeoHE 550W is finally available in my country for onl...

If this is any indication: http://www.pcgameshardware.de/external/browser/?article_id=480000&image_id=522040 The 35W version is not going to get a price cut at all. :( Even the 65W 4200+ is slated to be cheaper than the 35W 3800+. At least the 65W 3800+ will give the E6300 a run for its money at the...

I agree that the Eternity connectors get annoying. Even though there are 4 connectors, I had to use a Molex to SATA adapter to power 3 hard drives that were relatively close together. Did you check the SPCR review of the Liberty? The noise (dbA) is comparable to the Seasonic S12-500/600 until about...

Antec NeoHE was not available in my area at the time I was shopping for a PSU and I too wanted something modular, so I went for a Liberty 500W. My comments would be that: The modular cables are nice, but that so called design feature of having both SATA and 4pin molex plugs mish-mashed onto a single...

Ninja installation on a A8N-SLI: Backplate concerns
I was previously using a P4P800-ED mobo (S478), however it died 3 days ago and instead of getting a P4P800-X or something, I'm thinking about a move to A64 3000+ and probably an A8N-SLI. I'm concerned about Ninja installation with the A8N-SLI. Will I need to use the backplate that's supplied with th...
