Therefore, we can not assure if the specific cooler is compatible or not. Thanks for your understanding in adv...

Hi! I have never removed heatsinks from the motherboard before and I have no idea whether it would help, but if you do, I don't think AS5 will be sufficient to keep the heatsinks from falling off after you remount them. You probably need to use some sort of thermal adhesive like arctic alumina or ar...

Re: ?? About Windows File and Folder Names
At we have tons of servers. One is for documents. There is a folder for each acronym, with many sub folders and files at many different levels below it. One massive hierarchy. My question is - I would like to put all the file and folder names into an Excel spreadsheet. What would really be great is...

I agree I intended to go with the turbo module as well, but the temps were so much lower than stock even without a fan directly on it that I didn't bother, so I think any single fan directly on the heat sink should be fine. I did put a nexus 92mm into the bottom intake area of my solo as a compromise.

Yeah, most of these 3870s are actually the same thing. There are a few with custom coolers that you might want to look at; I keep hearing rumors of passive 3870s coming out as well. What are you planning to do with the third slipstream? You should need at most one fanmate, since the board will give ...

For completeness, I did some more tests to compare power usage at my 24/7 settings of 3.0 Ghz/1.0375v. I don't know if anyone cares, but here it is :) 70 watts idle 98 watts w/ prime 95 running 154 watts max w/ Folding@Home and World in Conflict playing at the same time (CD not spinning) I'm not 100...

Logically, since heat rises, you want air to come in somewhere near the bottom, go through the computer, then leave somewhere near the top. What kind of case do you have? Usually, cases have vents at the front in the bottom and in back near the top, so you'd put point the rear fan outwards and the f...

As you can see in my sig, I have a similar system. I let the bios control my CPU fan (s-flex), and it generally runs at around 500-600rpm, so your 800rpm CPU should be fine. I just didn't see any disadvantage to getting the faster fan and letting it run slower. I use a 1200rpm slipstream exhaust@7v,...

Well, I decided to see if I could get up to 4ghz with this chip, and here are my results: First, I did a day of memtest86 at 400fsb, 6:5 DDR2 speed to make sure my ram could run >900 Mhz. I had to adjust memory timings from 5-4-4-12 to 5-5-5-18 to get the computer to boot. Then I did a day of foldin...

all the "D" models from gigabyte are ultra durable. Gigabyte says the DS3L is "ultra durable" while the DS3R and DS3P have "Ultra Durable 2". I'm not sure what the difference is, but the DS3P has a pipe between 2 heat sinks. The "ultra durable 2" marketing description also has more fancy pictures t...

The Accelero S1 Rev B appears to be out of stock virtually everywhere. This includes Newegg, where all my other parts are coming from, and their ETA is March 4th.. that's a long time. I've used speedfan with my 3-pin fans also, but I've only used it a little while testing my temperatures to get a consistent fan speed. I have an Antec P150, i wanna buy a P7K500 250GB model; in your opinion, is it necessary to cool it down with front 90mm fans, or can i avoid install them?
