Would recommend changing the motherboard to an nVidia 9300/9400 (nv730i) based motherboard instead of an Intel G4x. Setup two new machines last night both with Asus P5N7A-VM motherboards (see spcr review here: http://www.silentpcreview.com/article892-page1.html ), very nice mobo and definately more ...

Wojtek, your atto bench doesn't look right there... Received my 30GB Vertex last night, and did a quick test in my X38 rig: http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/6531/vertex30gb.png The drive arrived with 1275 firmware installed, and I aligned the drive as per Tony's instructions in this thread: http://w...

Just use a 2xMolex > 6 pin PCIe connector for the second card  The 500W should be enough to power even the beefiest overclocked FX55 + SLI 6800U loaded beast. Suppose that'd suffice too, but would be nice to have 2 x proper PCI-E connectors just to help keep tidy (and I imagine any SLI system...

Next gripe is the 600W version should have 2 PCI-E connectors to be SLI ready

Another review here - http://www.3dvelocity.com/reviews/seasonics12/s12.htm
Looks not bad, notice theres no pci-e connectors tho, also shame theres no 500W+ version too.

Probably the best high airflow 120mm's and very smooth, but not really SPCR quiet ;) I tried 2 of them as case fans in my lx-6a19, at lowest voltage still made a noticable airflow noise but the temps were great. I just put 6 of them on my 120.3 radiator in my benching rig I'm making atm :D (due to t...

Exactly, for that price you could get an A64 3000/3200+ Winchester, Decent NF3 board and an XP-120 heatsink which would probably own the dothan on performance after overclocked. Heard that DFI are gonna make an enthusiast Dothan board based on the i915 chipset in the future though, so hopefully that...

The -R appears to be the retail 'Blue Storm' versions, whereas the non -R are the standard grey looking ones. Also these come with 24-pin ATX plugs as standard now (hopefully including a 24 to 20 pin converter too). I'm gonna pick up either a FSP350-60THN/FSP400-60THN in the week sometime so hopeful...

The worst thing about the new ATI Silencer 1 is that theres no fan speed switch now (probably cos AC expect people will be using them on cards with PWM, and my 9800NP doesnt support it :( ) Also, I had to mod my ATI Silencer 1 to fit over my tweakmonster ramsinks :( As far as cooling i'd say theres ...
