Ok, I have mangled my NB47J just so that I can move my video card from the bottom slot to the top slot and run it at 16x. But now my temperatures have risen sharply - 46 degrees idle, 49 load. It used to be 40 idle 44 load... And performance increase is negligable. Oh well, guess as long as it stays...

The NoVibes is suspending the drive, however it still vibrates slightly (although much better than mounting the drive with screws directly in the drive cage). Normally to mount drives in the 5.25'' bays, there are 2 plastic rails which you clip onto both sides of the drive and slide it into the bay....

I wouldn't recommend it, I've encountered problems with some machines set up this way. I've also read that connecting the IDE cable the other way round gives slower transfer rates.

Nope, I didn't manage to get the VGA Silencer working with the 9600 anymore so I just used a Zalman northbridge heatsink on it.

Maybe I'll get a 9800 and use it with that.

Are you using a 9600? I think they dont have a shim (mine didn't).
